This is a nice and trendy looking place. I had the Ceviche made with yellowfin tuna – it was delicious and beautiful. also had the El jefe skirt steak which was the most tender best steak I’ve had in awhile. Service is walk-up, but the staff does a great job of bringing food and margaritas to table and cleans up. I left a big tip they were that good. Queso, chips, salsa are the best. Highly recommend!

Don’t miss this one if you are in Shreveport. Excellent service in an attractive restaurant. The menu was simple and notated with healthy options- if you desired. I ordered the el jefe certified carne asada with an organic side salad which was the best steak I’ve had in a mexican restaurant. Other stand outs were the chipotle chicken tacos and wonderful margaritas.

Forward thinking on typical Mexican fare. It was fresh, exciting, and delicious. Service was better than a full-service restaurant. Ambiance was cute. The Tuna Bowl was almost too pretty to eat and the shrimp burrito (made with gulf shrimp) excellent but almost too big to eat. Very happy I included this restaurant on my trip to Shreveport.

They have a super nice patio that’s heated, which was definitely appreciated on a chilly night. One of the standouts is their “Burrito in a Wetsuit,” a fun homage to the owner’s surfing days in Southern California—and it’s nothing short of bold, filling, and packed with flavor. We also tried the carnitas tacos, fish tacos, and the shrimp quesadilla, and every single one was excellent. And whatever you do, don’t leave without trying their award-winning margaritas, El Don Juanz—they’re a must.

My best friend and I stopped by for lunch and it was our first time to eat here. The menu is loaded with fresh ingredients like sushi grade fish, queso made from real cheese, fresh tortillas made in house, and so much more! I was thrilled to finally find a restaurant in Shreveport that has filtered water and ice! As a connoisseur of tacos, chips and salsa, I have to say this may be the best that I’ve ever tasted. Don and his staff truly care about the details. If you are looking for fresh ingredients, great service, and supporting local- this is it!

A great restaurant for a variety of delicious tacos, burritos, & quesadillas. We stopped by about 7pm & immediately noticed the police presence in the parking lot. The host to taking the orders was friendly & informative. Walked us through the menu & pointed out the most popular items to try. Being able to mix taco selections is the path we chose. The Mexi-cheese steak tacos were probably my favorite but the Baja Carnitas slow cooked pork with pineapples was delicious! Service was excellent as they would check on us several times to make sure we didn’t need anything. A great place for a date night or just solo or with the family.

My husband has celiac disease, and Don Juanz went above and beyond to accommodate him safely. When we placed our order at the counter, the owner took time to talk with us about how they handle gluten-free meals — explaining their kitchen setup and how their staff are trained to prevent cross-contamination. It gave us so much confidence, and the food was absolutely delicious.
Great service, great food, and such care for their customers. Highly recommend for anyone looking for gluten-free options done right!
