My favorite spot in Chicago to grab breakfast with friendly and familiar faces. Angelo, the owner and operator, treats patrons like neighbors and is always accomodating. The prices are very reasonable and the homemade quality and effort stands out everytime. It’s the best neighborhood spot to grab a good bite in the morning and get your day going. They easily have the best Corned Beef Hash in the city of Chicago and don’t forget to try the homemade hot sauce! Their daily board specials help to mix things up while saving some money. Don’t forget to bring cash!

**CASH ONLY** Classic breakfast joint known for their corned beef. They were featured on Chicago’s Best for this. The corned beef was very tasty and the jelly for the toast was great. Very friendly and speedy service.

Yellow Rose is a civic treasure. The owner/chef Angelo is a culinary genius. Every day he makes fresh turkey and ham. His pork chops, hot beef and corned beef hash are incredible. If you’re eating breakfast you must add pancakes to your eggs, they’re sublime.

The small staff are the best. Sara, who is waitress on Tuesdays and Thursdays, is known for her spirit and wit — if you ask for water she’ll bring you a Lake Michigan Martini.

It’s an intimate spot and every customer is treated like family. There is a convenient parking lot. You have my assurance that if you try it once, you’ll become regulars like my family. The food is fresh and delicious. Prices are very modest for the quality, but bring cash, they don’t accept plastic.

Try it, you’ll like it!! I’m convinced the only reason this place doesn’t have more reviews is that the “regulars” and people who know how good this place is are not the kinds that leave reviews.

We LOVED our first time at Yellow Rose! Sara our server greeted us when we walked in and made us feel like she knew us from the get go. She praised the chef’s as she explained the day’s specials and gave us great recommendations.

I had the Turkey Club (for breakfast because Sara did such a fantastic job of selling the fresh cooked turkey) and let me tell you, THE BEST club sandwich I’ve ever had!!!

My husband had the biscuits and gravy, and thought it was great as well.

I wish we lived in the area, we would def be regulars if we did!!!

Charming little old-fashioned spot. Nice staff, opened up for me when I came by looking for breakfast in an unfamiliar neighborhood where I had some early-morning business to attend to. The food was great, service was quick and easy, place was clean and comfortable.

One of the best breakfast spots in Chicago! Our server Lori is one of the sweetest and nicest people you will ever meet. The place is very cozy and you always feel welcomed and at home here. And the food is top notch and with great breakfast deals you won’t find anywhere else. Definitely a place you must try if you’re looking for a lowkey but delicious breakfast spot!

Yellow Rose is a neighborhood gem! The menu is amazing. It’s a challenge to choose among the wide variety of freshly cooked meals. Today I had to decide between the pork chops, roast beef dinners and many breakfast specials. No matter what you choose, you will leave full and happy. It’s like eating at Grandma’s house. From the moment you walk in, the kind and caring staff make you feel like family. I encourage you to try Yellow Rose. You won’t be disappointed. Heads up…
They only take cash.

6/2022 5* I TOTALLY recommend this place!

Found the place clean, and super friendly. Small and quaint. Lots of “regulars” stopping in. Was like watching a happy family interact. Was busy, but not too busy. Food was cooked fresh and too order. Had weekend specials. I got the “Chicago Breakfast” for $9.99. Good deal, good food, good atmosphere. Totally worth it! The staff was so friendly it was crazy. I loved it! Always saying Thank you and things like that. It was awesome! Next time I am around, I will stop back in. Try something new.

My colleague and I stopped here for a quick breakfast before a full day of meetings, and it felt like stepping back in time — in the best way possible. No rush, no stress, just warm smiles, kind staff, and incredible breakfast food made fresh from scratch. The atmosphere alone is worth the visit, but when you pair it with the quality of the food, it’s unbeatable. Thank you to the team for hosting us Jersey girls so graciously — we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town (and we’ll be sure to bring plenty of cash this time)!
