Simply the best French food in OC! The food, service, and ambiance are all five-star.

The service is professional and the atmosphere is elegant. The dishes are consistently outstanding. Must-try items include the Steak Frites, Duck Confit, and the delicious Escargot. Make sure to save room for the famous Napoleon dessert. Highly recommended for any special occasion!

We had a wonderful date night at Marché Moderne. The cocktails were refined and thoughtfully crafted, and the food was beautifully presented, well prepared, and truly delicious.

The wine list is extensive and appealing. While the $30 glass of Saint-Émilion we ordered didn’t quite stand out, it didn’t take away from an overall excellent experience.

We were seated on time for our reservation and enjoyed attentive service throughout the evening. We did arrive a bit early and were asked to wait briefly, so arriving right at your reservation time seems to work best.

A great spot for a special night out — we would happily return.

Evan was an excellent server to our anniversary party of two. The food was delicious, and the drinks were tasty. Ambiance was relaxed, warm and inviting for the holiday season. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

As a former Londoner, my expectations for a great dining experience are quite high—and this place exceeded them in every way. I brought five friends along, and we all enjoyed every dish, the inviting ambience, and the impeccable service. The noise level was just right, allowing us to chat comfortably throughout dinner. Truly a wonderful evening—Highly recommend giving this place a try!

The restaurant was very crowded. We had an 8PM reservation but arrived an hour early hoping to eat sooner. We were told we would need to wait until 8PM, and when we asked about sitting at the bar, we were told we could go take a look ourselves—even though several tables appeared to be empty.

The food was disappointing. The salad was not fresh and didn’t taste good at all. The short rib was average, and I couldn’t finish it. The duck was just okay. Several items we expected based on photos online from a few months ago were no longer available, which made it seem like the menu changes frequently.

For dessert, the chocolate soufflé cake was not good at all…it was bitter, and the chocolate wasn’t melting on the inside as expected. I also ordered a tea and was given the wrong one.

Overall, the experience felt overpriced for the quality, and I wouldn’t recommend this place

If you’re celebrating something, Marché Moderne is the spot. If you’re not celebrating something, the staff may quietly wonder why you’re even there—birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, “I survived another week at work”—pick one, or risk raised eyebrows.

Service is friendly and gently persuasive, like a menu therapist guiding you toward life’s better decisions. The bread service arrives warm, with walnuts chunky enough to make you question your dental insurance, but the salted butter redeems everything.

Highlights of the night: a surf & turf carpaccio (skirt steak + crab) that easily stole the show; a decadent duck liver mousse that doubled as the bread service’s best friend; steak tartare that leaned sweet but came with truffle sauce, so all is forgiven; and prawns that were both delicious and big enough to demand their own ZIP code.

Dessert is where things get serious. The rice pudding—yes, rice pudding—was phenomenal, with flavor pairings straight out of a Rice to Riches fever dream. The bananas foster is another strong choice if you prefer your sugar flambéed.

Parking? Technically free. Realistically, nonexistent. On a Friday night, just hand over the $10 for valet and consider it the price of admission to a better life decision.

The food was average and nothing too special. I had the duck, and my partner had the beef. Service at the bar was good, and the staff were attentive.

Just back from France, I didn’t expect much — but the food here truly impressed me. We tried a variety of dishes and loved the scallops. The Pavlova and crème brûlée fell flat, though, lacking any real flavor. The wine was excellent; I even tracked down a bottle at Bevmo already! Will be back soon.

This was a great dining experience. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and explained all of our plates as they came out. The dishes were interesting, our crab came with sweet potatoes done three different ways. The drinks were fantastic and there was a long list of wines to choose from. I also liked how you can watch the food bring prepared in the kitchen while you’re eating.

Took my wife here for her birthday. Aside from them writing Happy Anniversary on the table card, excellent service. My wife had the braised short ribs and raved about it. On the other hand, my filet was extremely chewy. Couldn’t believe they called it a filet, more like a top sirloin. Waiter was very helpful and brought me another. Marginally better but really disappointed that this very upscale restaurant would serve such poor quality steaks. For about same price you can have an amazing filet at Ruth’s Chris. We spent over $300 here so definitely not worth it.
