On a rainy, muggy day like today, nothing hits the soul quite like a steaming bowl of caldo de res…and Mi Mexico Restaurant delivered in every way. Tucked away just beyond the train tracks on a bustling street, this spot is a true hidden gem for those craving authentic, home-cooked Mexican flavors.
The caldo de res arrived piping hot, filled with tender, fall-apart beef and perfectly soft vegetables that soaked up every bit of the rich, bold broth. The seasoning was on point & deep, hearty, and layered with flavor that felt like it had been simmering for hours. Paired with fluffy, soft homemade corn tortillas, it was a meal that instantly transported me to childhood memories of comfort and warmth.
And let me tell you about the rice…it was 100% perfect. Light, fluffy, and flavorful, I couldn’t contain myself! I had to dump it all into my caldo, and it took the whole dish to the next level.

Had a great experience at a local restaurant. Mi Mexico is not much to look at, but the interior is beautiful, new, and spacious. Our aerver was great, she took care of our request and was friendly. Our plates were large, reasonably priced and tasted great. We came after the lunch rush but before the bar was open, I think next time we will enjoy a few drinks with a dinner visit.

This place is always empty always has only one or two tables occupied. We went to go eat brunch after church my husband and I both got camarones a la diabla each and my son got the pancake plate and we each got a drink. The total came out to almost $63, which is an absurd amount. When I woke up this morning I saw that the total had been updated to add a dollar so it came out to almost $70 for three plates and drinks which is ridiculous. And I know my husband did not add tip to the card because we left tip cash. The food was definitely not worth that amount and for a lemonade and horchata. No wonder this place is always empty. This is a great place to get some great food. The staff is friendly and the food is cooked good and fast. It is 10am on a monday morning, I stopped in for breeakfast and it was delicious and they even had a two person live band. It was a nice surprise. Stop in for a bite, you can thank me later.

My cousin kept trying to tell me about this place so finally we made it in there. It was everything he said it would be. Deelishis. The flour tortillas, you know I love those when they have the little powder on them, and they did. Operative word, fluffy. The Carnitas taco was delicious. We splurged on a shrimp cocktail. That actually had shrimp in it LOL. As you know that’s not always the case. Very tasty. And then the breakfast special was two pancakes two eggs how you want them and two strips of bacon for 4.99 great deal! pancakes were delicious, maybe had a little vanilla in them? not sure but they were classic made to order pancakes. the bacon cooked perfectly crisp and eggs that were over easy when you asked for over easy- you know that always makes me happy. FYI- they also have sugar free syrup.

BEWARE!!
Ordered a carne asada torta and was charged $8.99 when the menu board shows $7.99! On top of that I was charged $1.00 for the asada meat. No where does it state on the drive tru menu board that certain meats are EXTRA! So the actual price of the torta is $9.99 not $7.99!!
I went inside a day or so later to talk to the manager about this issue. He did not know that the “register” was “charging these prices”. He looked clueless and didn’t know how to handle this problem. Also the drive tru order taker, (young female, thin, false eyelashes) is very arrogant when I asked her at the window why was I charged a $1.00 for the carne asada. She stated “because carne asada is extra” then closed the window on me! Very rude! She can barely speak English! Rude! Maybe the language barrier is an issue there?
I really think they are not being honest with their customers and many people don’t know unless they look at their receipts! I can get a good torta for less than their prices.
I will check this place off my list and never support them again.

This is the first time I have been to this restaurant and I must say I love it. We were greeted at the door. The food took a bit. But no complaints here

The carne guisada taco was too hard and stiff. Called to tell them about it and was told to call the next day to speak to someone. I will be doing so tomorrow morning. I got two other tacos with a torta and the meat had no flavor.
