This is one of my friend’s favorites and I understand why. We were immediately seated in a very busy restaurant. Nice to hear others enjoying their evening. The waitress was more than accomodating with our picky needs. My friend enjoyed her martinis, my prosecco was fine. My friend chose her scrod dinner served with mashed potatoes and sauteed zucchini. The little taste I had of the lemoncello cake was delicious. I enjoyed a favorite – frute de mare, pasta with loads of seafood.

This is our new favorite Italian restaurant. From a delicious craft mocktail to perfectly charred and beautifully colored steak tips to some of the tastiest lamb we’ve had…and not to mention the homemade pasta! Soft and succulent and cooked to perfection. The gravies and sauces so decadent and mouthwatering the flavors had our tastebuds eager for more! Our owner is mostly Italian and has a 100% Italian mom and he was so impressed by this food. He said, regardless of where you are from you definitely need to try Gaetano’s in Stoneham, MA. Literally the best Italian food around!

If you’re not white/ Italian and old do not go to this restaurant.
I visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday at the recommendation of my cousin, who wanted me to try their tripe etc.
Unfortunately, from the moment we walked in, we felt extremely out of place. Nearly everyone turned to stare at us, like we were from another planet, creating a very uncomfortable and unwelcoming atmosphere.
Despite this, we decided to stay since we had driven over 30 minutes to get there and were quite hungry.
To be fair, the food was generally good, but they had run out of the tripe, that was the main reason why we went there, but we ended ordering other dishes. the rice was undercooked, but beside I’m not gonna lie, the rest of the food was good.
What truly ruined the experience, however, was the service. Both the waitress and bartender were noticeably unfriendly and made us feel as though we didn’t belong.
At one point, the server even took my plate while I was still eating, without asking if I was finished.
The entire experience felt dismissive and discriminatory. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works toward creating a more inclusive and respectful environment for all patrons.

We tried this place when we lived in Stoneham years ago on the last day before moving to the Midwest. We ordered a pizza. It was so delicious that 6 years later we still remembered it and ordered it again in our recent visit. Even better than we remember it. We ordered the Margarita and added mushroom and olive. Best pizza ever!!! So so good I wish I can come every day. Our server was so friendly too. Great experience.

Great local Italian place. The food was incredible and our server was fantastic. Perfect service, very attentive but not pushy or at the table all the time, nice but not sappy, and not extra sweet when dropping off the bill. I wish I had gotten her name. Really happy we finally got to check this place out- we’ll absolutely be back.

I don’t remember what the name of the meal was but it came with some rice with a tomato sauce type of sauce and salmon with asparagus and it was so good. I ate all the salmon and had to bring the rice home it was just too good 10/10

I stopped in for lunch on Tuesday, and even with a private function taking place, we were treated with complete attentiveness and care, as if the entire dining room belonged to us. The service never missed a beat.
Now—the lobster ravioli. The meal of the year. Rich, delicate, unforgettable. I can’t recommend it enough; it’s the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-conversation just to appreciate what’s happening on your palate.
This was only my second time dining here, yet somehow it managed to surpass the magic of my first visit—a rare accomplishment for any restaurant. Some experiences deserve to be talked about long after the plates are cleared, and this one is absolutely worth bragging about. A flawless lunch, a flawless team, and a place I’ll keep coming back to with high expectations—because they’ve proven they can exceed them.

My daughter and I went to Gaetano’s on the spur of the moment. I picked her up from an event in Cambridge and she told me that she had a hankering for Italian food. We were originally going to go to a place in East Boston but since it was Sunday that place was closed. I called a friend of mine and asked for recommendation. He told me about Gaetano’s. I had never been there or had ever heard of it but I went on his recommendation. He was a 100% spot on. The food was excellent, the service was great, and we had a very enjoyable experience. We started with the calamari appetizer, which was wonderful. Lightly breaded and deep fried. My daughter had the four cheese ravioli in pink vodka sauce. I had the veal saltimboca. Both of our entrees were excellent. Full of flavor and truly satisfying. We finished with spumoni and canolli accompanied by cappuccino and coffee. All in all, it was an excellent meal.

Got a Margherita pizza (which is my usual go to pizza option) and was disappointed with it! Didn’t taste anything like Margherita pizza! No fresh Mozzarella cheese and tomatoes were chopped up. Tasted like a cheese pizza 🙁 Not worth the money!!

My wife and I went to your restaurant last night for our anniversary. This was about eight times we have been here as always. Great food and service. Fran was our waitress very nice. The owner even came to our table to check if everything was ok. That was nice also. We will be going back there
