Darya Kabob at Towncenter Plaza in Herndon, VA offers a solid and authentic Middle Eastern dining experience.
Food:
The menu features a good selection of kabobs, koftas, lamb chops, wraps, hummus, salads, and hearty stews. The meats were well-seasoned, properly grilled, and served fresh. Portions were satisfying, and the flavors were familiar and authentic, especially for me who have lived and worked in the Middle East.
Service:
The staff were attentive, courteous, and efficient. Orders were handled smoothly, and the team was helpful in explaining menu items and ensuring a pleasant dining experience throughout the meal.
Facilities:
The restaurant is clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. Seating is adequate for both small groups and families, making it suitable for casual lunches or relaxed dinners.
Overall:
A reliable place for quality Middle Eastern food with good service and a welcoming atmosphere. I would recommend Darya Kabob to anyone looking for authentic flavors in the Herndon area.

Hello, I would like to complain about this restaurant Darya Kabob located in Sterling, VA. Today I went to eat and there was a piece of plastic in the salad they gave me. When I picked it up, it was this big. I couldn’t believe the lack of hygiene. In addition, there was a cockroach on the table in a corner. It’s shameful that this happens since I see that they lack not only hygiene standards but also service. I also felt discriminated against since 50 minutes passed and they only brought me the salad and bread. When other customers arrived much later, they were given their food. The waitress was super hateful. Besides the food being dirty, it seems that they are racist. How sad these events are. Oh, and I have pictures of what I’m saying.

The food is good and the staff are friendly; however, the items you receive don’t match the photos on the DoorDash menu. I’ve ordered the chicken kabob twice, which is pictured with lemon, grilled tomato, onion, chickpeas, and side sauces—but both times, I only received the sauces. It’s disappointing. If these items are no longer included, the photo should be updated to reflect what’s actually offered.

The food costs around $40 to $50 for two people, but they serve it on disposable plates! The design is terrible! It lacks any real culture. There are some Persian posters (like Hafez…) on the wall, but when we asked, “Excuse me, is this a Persian restaurant?” they got offended!
Overall, the cultural vibe is weak — the atmosphere doesn’t match the price, and the food wasn’t tasty at all.
I ordered Qabili Palaw to see what it was like, but the meat smelled strongly of lamb, was not cooked well, and the rice had been taken off the heat too early — it wasn’t properly steamed.
I couldn’t eat it and just left it as it was.
All in all, I don’t recommend it.

As a licensed real estate agent in MD, DC, and VA, my job takes me all over the place. On this particular day, an appointment ran longer than expected and I didn’t want to cook when I got home. I stumbled upon this restaurant by accident, and it turned out to be a great find. I decided to take out, and was pleasantly surprised by how quick, fresh, and delicious the food was.

I just ate at Darya Kabob and everything was amazing. I ordered the tandoori chicken with beef kubideh, qabeli rice, grilled onions, and half salad with white and red sauce on the side. The flavors were spot on and the meat was juicy and perfectly cooked.
I also tried the hummus appetizer and chickpeas on the side, both were super fresh and flavorful. The Shirazi salad was really good, refreshing and balanced. They have tons of drinks and juices to choose from which is a nice touch.
Overall, great food, good portions, and fast service. Definitely one of the best Afghan spots around.

One of best Kabob places out there. Have tried several places, their food has a unique taste. It’s not extremely spicy, but plenty of flavoring. Highly recommend! and they give you sauce bottles at table for dine in.

I find the young man desigated as the Manager exreamly rude and ill informed regarding the proper food preparation methods. I recieved a Salmon kabob that was burned crisp after showing him the picture he told me that next time I can order the salmon medium or medium rare! I informed him that the Virginia Department of health guidline requires that they cook raw salmon to 145 degrees for a minimum of 15 seconds and that they can not cook it rare or medium rare otherwise their customers would get food born illness; He argued with me saying that Sushi is raw fish and people don’t get sick! I told him that salmon used for sushi is Sushi grade as it is frozen to a degree to kill all parasites and it is not the same as raw uncooked salmon. Then he got very rude and combative as I was explaining it to one of his staff members as I was picking up my catering order. Needless to say I shall not be going back!
