Good food for what they had. Sure would have loved to try their BBQ but, somebody crashed their car into the smoker. They getting it worked on but we missed out. I had the hamburger steak and it was good. Good portion. Filled me up. Baked beans were good. The potato salad was bland to me.plenty of seats and parking. We rode up from Gainesville to try them. I’ll return when they get things back to normal.

I had the brisket, ribs, and catfish. I wasn’t a fan of the brisket, the 1/4 lb of brisket I got didn’t look as good as others have posted. I did show up close to closing time so maybe the brisket is better when it’s fresher. The catfish was good but the ribs were incredible. I highly recommend every try the ribs and get the full rack because you will want more. I also liked their barbecue sauce. The sides were good, I did like the fried squash and coleslaw.

What a restaurant! Out by it self about 9 miles out of town. I had the spud with brisket, stew and garlic bread. I added fried okra. Everything was wonderful. They have so many items to choose from. Best brisket I have ever had. Service was a little off but the place was packed on Friday night.

The bbq pork is good, the mac n cheese n baked beans are good but the Brunswick stew is perfection. Im never disappointed here but i will say as a woman goin through perimenopause the lack of ac had me deceasing. Even the waitresses were in full on sweat mode. I cant imagine being on my feet constantly moving in that stagnant heat and not passing out at some point.

We knew the menu would be limited since they lost their smoke house during the winter storm, but in effort to support the local business we went anyway.
A chicken tender platter with no seasoned fries.
A burger (frozen puck patties) with a side of cold frozen mac n chz
A vegetable plate that the only thing edible was the green beans…the okra was hard as rocks, the chili on the fries was so old it was crunchy and frozen cold mac n chz.
Cost $50.
Mentioned to the waitress and she said “I’ll let them know” at minimum an offer to heat up the food would’ve been better than nothing.
Mentioned to the cashier and got the same response “I’ll let em know”
Must be in the handbook.
$50. Wasted.

Love this place. Always great food, great service. I think I’ve tried everything and it’s all been great. I tried the Broccoli cheddar chicken last Sunday and I absolutely loved it. I can’t eat peppers or celery so their tater salad and meatloaf is spot on for me. If you haven’t tried them you need to check them out.

Our daughter recommended this to us. They just didn’t tell us it’s a controlled chaos. (We are not local.) We decided to share a meal so we could have room for dessert. The brisket was the best we’ve had since Texas. And the chocolate cobbler was outstanding. The service was quicker than we expected based on the number of customers. We’ll be back on our next visit to Lake Hartwell (and our daughter and family).
