Tandoori Hut Indian Cuisine Erie – Indian Restaurant in Erie Pa
Reviews
Excited to try Tandoori Hut for authentic Indian cuisine, we were immediately met with an outdated decor, but decided to give it a chance. However, the lack of service was a major disappointment. We waited for an extended period before anyone acknowledged our presence. We eventually had to call the restaurant to get any attention. This poor service continued throughout the meal, as no one checked in on us.
Our main hope, the tandoori chicken, was a complete letdown. The dish was incredibly dry, greasy, and tasted stale. The rubbery texture was off-putting, leaving us hungry and disappointed. It’s unfortunate that such a fundamental dish was so poorly executed.
Both dish comes with a lot of rice to go with.
I do enjoy the taste of both dish, though I find that the shrimps texture are quite mushy, and to me it feels like the shrimps are not fresh. Their naan is also very bland.
I would not recommend getting their shrimp dish. But I will try out their other dishes next time.
The staff is very nice. They offer dine in and take out, although there are not many parking space in the back.
They had us seat ourselves, brought us menus, and gave us 2 glasses of warm city tap water with no ice. We waited 15 minutes for them to take our orders and never asked what we wanted to drink so we just had warm city water.
The food took 25 minutes to come out. My friend liked his lamb curry, but said it was too much of just 1 flavor with no palette cleanser. Naan doesn’t come with the food so you have to order it and pay extra. We got garlic Naan which was very good, but not big enough for the price. The butter chicken was okay, I had 4 bites then didn’t want anymore because it was very salty and rich with no palette cleanser with just warm water to drink which was gross. The rice was okay.
The music was literally the same songs again and again and again and again… we were stuck there a long time listening to the same things so it was annoying.
Staff were nice.
It needs updated inside.
Everything is fantastic! There a-little understaffed right now so I suggest calling ahead for dine in and takeout might be a little bit of a wait. But other then that this restaurant is wonderful. The owners are so friendly and the food speaks for itself. YUM!
