What was not unfortunate about this place was the chef. The food was great. The service was abominable. The details are slipping. Highly lactose intolerant I asked for the halibut without the sauce. The waitresses told me

On New Year’s Day we were not expecting to have a great experience and were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and an offer to take our coats and seated in the simple yet elegant restaurant. You were immediately shown the days special drink menu, and given menus to order. The menu is short and we have not noticed the local specialty off to the side. Our waitress explained that this custom meal included venison, an appetizer and a dessert and was their local specialty. We happily ordered this and were pleased with every dish presented. The wine . Nothing but great things to say and would highly recommend this restaurant.

This was a great experience. We went there for the Christmas Day lunch special, where they just gave us a 4 course meal which was pre chosen, and it was delicious. We started the meal off with small cup of soup(sorry I can’t remember what was in it), alongside a salad which included some foie gras – duck kidney, ikr. The entre was quite good and it was nice to try something new with the foie gras. We moved on to some Perché fish in a nice sauce that had truffle, among other things. Next was the highlight of the meal by a long shot, the duck, with one pumpkin tortellini, and some cooked cabbage. The duck was perfect, the best duck I’ve ever eaten, easily. It was perfect medium rare, just the right combination of sweet and salty, and had a mouth watering crust. Other parts of this meal were also excellent, though there is less to say as they were not as complex, more simple things that they got right. Finally, the dessert consisted of a scoop of delicious vanilla ice cream, covered in a complementing mousse-like outer layer, topped with a few caramel popcorn pieces that gave it an excellent crunch, all on a base layer of caramel hinted sauce that wasn’t too sweet for you to get sick of it. It’s worth noting that I may have gotten a few details about the individual meals and what they included here wrong, as I don’t have the menu in front of me (sorry for any errors). Overall, this place was amazing and if you haven’t been I highly recommend.

We had a fantastic lunch at Ramloc, a lovely family-run restaurant in Colmar, tucked away from the tourist crowds. Excellent food, warm and attentive service, and even the kids’ menu was a big hit with our son. Highly recommended!

Food was top class and wine selection as well. Service is pretentious to a Michelin star restaurant, although it is not – details missing consequently:
– They welcome you at the door, but careless when you are about to leave
– Dining room is half empty
– Service slows down gradually (we paid at the counter – once again, no one cared)
Have a strong feeling they treat all visitors as “come and go” tourists.

One of the best restaurants visited in the past year (and there have been a lot of those)! Everything was excellent: from service to food and wine recommendations. Best Foie gras tasted to date, crispy veal and swordfish steak were also on a different level. The service was pleasant and attentive. Definitely pay a visit if you’re in Colmar or within a 50km radius.

We had dinner at Ramloc (Colmar spelled backwards) Restaurant on the opening day of the Christmas Market 2023 in Colmar a few days ago. It was glorious! I would say anything that strikes your fancy will be great. I ordered the 3 course menu with the seasonal venison, a soup and brioche desert. While my wife ordered a fish entree. The presentation and taste was excellent and price was great. I would highly recommend Ramloc to anyone that is visiting Colmar. Our party of 6 made reservation just in case but they were not too busy that night most probably since it is a Thursday night.

I went here on a Saturday’s night for dinner and luckily they graciously accepted us with no reservation and made us feel very welcome. The hostess and the waitress were super nice and we had a great experience. Also, they did not seem to have an English menu, which was fine for me since I have a translation app, but might not work out if you expect an English menu. We were a little sick of eating so much meat during our trip in France so we focused our meal on the seafood. While the food was good, it didn’t wow me. We ordered the mussels on the conch pasta with butternut squash sauce and a monkfish dish. The mussels were still Sandy so I was a little disappointed with the dish, but the butternut squash sauce was very well prepared and went very well with the dish. I would give the food an overall 3 star review and the service a 5 star, so decided on a 4 star review. This being said, maybe I’m much harder to please when it comes to food. The meat dishes that other people had ordered around us did truly look great. I would recommend everyone to try this place at least once to gather their own opinion, but because the food didn’t wow me, I won’t be coming back.
