Maybe I was there on a bad day but the “buffet” is really just a small display case (which was mostly empty when I was there) whereby you choose 3 items for your meal. They dip it out and hand it to you. Everything was salty and overcooked. The chicken and vegetables I had looked and tasted like they had been stewing all say. The veggies were these soggy, spongy things that I couldn’t eat.
I saw where they won a couple of Ruthies some years ago but it’s not evident now. And the prices were way too high. They have the credit card machine setup to ask for tips that start at 18% and go up from there. What a joke.

I ordered the chicken with broccoli and my husband ordered the sweet and sour sauce. I have never seen such water clear sauce in chicken and broccoli. Literally did not taste anything. I do not recommend. I only gave them 2 stars because the sweet and sour chicken was decent. Such a shame.

Our first time dined at Far East. They have a mix combination of Lao/Thai and Chinese food.
The restaurant very pleasant and nice decor.
I had Lad Nah Noodles with veggies delicious and savory. The portion size was generous. My husband had salt and pepper shrimp with rice. The shrimp was crispy and tangy. We love both dishes. We will definitely order these dishes again for our next visit. Just found our new favorite place to enjoy. The service was very friendly and efficient.

I do not normally review food places, I have better things to do with my time, but hand was forced on this one. DO NOT get your Chinese food from here unless you prefer to eat what seemed to be frozen dog food. I wouldn’t even feed this to a dog, it went straight in my trash can. You cannot call this lo mein. I tasted it even though I didn’t want to and believe it or not it tastes worse than it looks. If I could rate it zero stars I would, unfortunately I have to at least click one to make a review. No seasoning, clearly frozen “veggies”, and I’m not completely convinced that the meat was real (straight rubber). And even though the food seemed to come from a frozen box it was not even cooked all of the way. Even the fortune cookie was stale, talk about a complete disappointment. Save your time and money and eat somewhere else 🙂

As of July 1st they are under new management. The extra large egg rolls are now normal size. The cream cheese wontons are now crab rangoon. Few changes here and there.
Menu is now more what you’d expect from a small take out place. Some of the items seem to have increased in price.
The staff is different, but they are very friendly. We ordered a few things to try out. The fresh rolls has fresh herbs and were very tasty. They let us try their coconut ice cream. That was excellent. Overall happy with the food and service.

Placed order on Line for pick up, brought order for the pepper steak home when I received it the gravy was all water. It wasn’t thick and brown like it was prior order called and spoke with the manager. I did not ask for a refund. I just wanted them to give me a another dinner at a later date, she told me that I had to come in today for a replacement meal although I explained to her that I cannot drive at this time. This is why I have someone else to come in and pick it up so she wasn’t willing to give me replacement dinner for A later date and for this reason, I think that’s support service. I give them a one star.

Food was absolutely delicious and the portions are very generous. The food took a little longer than my pickup time, but the manager was so nice and offered me a free drink. And boy was the food worth the wait! All fresh, all delicious at a great price!

Great service and food at this classic restaurant near mtsu campus. Far east has been around a long time but new owners took over in July and that’s a good thing. The new menu departs from the mostly Chinese offerings with a strong emphasis on Thai. I had the red curry, heat number 4 and it had just the right amount of heat intensity of you like it hot. Five is Max. Nothing fancy about the interior, but it is quaint and it’s the food and service that will make you come back. Buffet served at lunch
