Authentic and amazing!

Nawal’s Mediterranean Grill, situated in Bulldog Crossing, Big Rapids, is a hidden gem. The restaurant’s eclectic Mediterranean decor establishes a genuine ambiance. One should not be misled by its unassuming appearance and location. The cuisine is exceptionally authentic, with fresh ingredients and handmade preparations, including the ground lamb. The owner, Nawal (pronounced Noel), welcomed us with a warm smile and provided a detailed overview of the menu. We selected the grape leaves, gyros, and Greek salad, all of which were delightful, with the gyros being the finest I have ever tasted. We also requested a couple of servings of grape leaves to go. Furthermore, we were entertained by a talented young magician following our meal. It goes without saying that I wholeheartedly recommend Nawal’s Mediterranean Grill and eagerly looking forward to my next visit.

We had the owner herself, not only wait on us, but make our food. Amazing service and It is honestly the best Mediterranean I have had. The drinks were amazing the starter Soups are absolutely phenomenal and don’t even get me started on the Gyro! 11/10 would come back again anytime, and from now on this will be a staple stop on my GR Food Stops!

What a little gem of a place. The owner was so pleasant and our waitress was very good. We tried a lot of different things knowing we would bring some home and we were not disappointed. The food we tried was chicken gnocchi soup, spicy lentil soup, fattoush salad, chicken and lamb gyro, and saffron rice. Dessert was bread pudding and baklava. The baklava is hands down the best. I have had it over seas and several places in the U.S and this truly was the best baklava I have ever had.

The staff was really friendly and the food was great. The portions were generous so I split them into two meals. It was a dish I would eat again because it was rich in protein.

I was on my way into the nail salon today, but was busy on my phone and walked in the wrong door……….
Best mistake EVER!!
Oh my word did it smell delicious in there.
I placed an order for after my nail appointment. Everyone was so nice( they even helped me pick out my nail color).

I only had a Gyro combo. It was so good. A nice zesty pickle spread covered the flat bread.
I just had to order another one to go.
Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!!!! Definitely going again.

Nawal’s Mediterranean Grill, tucked away in Bulldog Crossing, Big Rapids, is more than just a restaurant—it’s a genuine culinary escape! Do not let its unassuming location fool you; step inside, and you are transported by the eclectic Mediterranean decor and warm ambiance.

The greeting from Nawal (pronounced Noel), the owner, is a delight in itself. Her warm smile and detailed menu overview speak volumes about her passion. Every dish is a testament to authenticity: the ingredients are incredibly fresh, and everything is handmade, right down to the ground lamb.

We were thoroughly impressed by the grape leaves and Greek salad, but the gyros were, without a doubt, the finest I have ever tasted. We even ordered extra grape leaves to go! To top off the experience, we were entertained by a talented young magician after our meal. I wholeheartedly recommend Nawal’s and am already counting down to my next visit!

Nawal’s Mediterranean Grille is absolutely fantastic! The food is incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the service is warm and welcoming. The highlight of my visit was definitely the hummus — it’s hands down the best I’ve ever had. Creamy, perfectly seasoned, and so delicious that I could’ve made a meal out of it alone. If you’re looking for authentic Mediterranean food done right, this place is a must-try!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I recently stopped in at Nawal’s Mediterranean Eatery, Gourmet Cupcakes and Dessert for a late lunch with a friend, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. We ordered Nawal’s famous Moroccan Chicken with a side of ‘Happy Trees’ (steamed broccoli), and I have to say, if heaven was ever served in a bowl, this would be it!

The Moroccan Chicken was perfectly seasoned, tender, and bursting with flavors that transported me straight to the heart of Morocco. The side of steamed broccoli, affectionately called ‘Happy Trees,’ was fresh, crisp, and complemented the main dish beautifully. The attention to detail in every aspect of our meal was evident, and it made for an unforgettable dining experience.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the overall ambiance made our lunch feel special. I highly recommend Nawal’s to anyone looking for an authentic and mouth-watering Mediterranean meal. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their delicious offerings!

My wife and I stopped by here on the drive back to Illinois. I ordered hot Egyptian tea, which was black and herby with no sugar. The presentation was spectacular. We loved the salads we each got (Brian for $15 and the Susan for $12). In fact, the Brian was one of the best salads I’ve ever eaten. It had an interesting house-made oily lemon zest dressing with a subtle flavor, and generous lamb garlic sauce on top.

We also ordered bread pudding which was tasty and took a spinach pie to go. I personally wasn’t a fan of the spinach pie’s flavor (be aware that cheese is not feta), but for veggie lovers it’s a generous spinach filling.

One item of complaint: we were charged for two $15 dollar Brian salads when one was the $12 Susan.

Ordering advice: Do not be shy about having another server take your order if the one that came up to you first is too busy cooking to come back after you decided on your order!

The other desserts on display looked so good, and we will definitely want to come back one day and try them! This is a gem of a place in this relatively small town.

Everything about this place is amazing. Nawal is motherly, nurturing, and chatty. The food is flawless. Every single dish is delicious and authentic and immaculately flavored. I highly recommend the Moroccan chicken and the bread pudding. If I could only eat food here until I died, I would be more than happy. Honestly, I could die after eating here and have no regrets.
