First impressions were poor; with only two other booths of customers we didn’t expect to wait so long before giving our order. The server seemed absolutely miserable and unenthusiastic throughout the whole experience. We went for classic sushi but the rolls were a little more on the abnormal side. Spicy rolls weren’t spicy and Crispy meant deep fried. Tasted like we got sushi at a carnival. Overall a lackluster experience, we expected better for a downtown Ferndale sushi spot.

There was two of us we split 4 roll and were full.
The tiger roll sounded so unique with pickled radish and egg however it was almost tasteless.
The cherry blossom roll was very good the lemon on top was tasty and refreshing.
The crunch roll unfortunately just had too much rice.
We went on Friday night at 6:30 and there wasn’t a wait for a table. There was only one sushi chef so food took a bit to come out.
Price was pretty standard across most sushi restaurants.
It was good, nice to try a new place but nothing to really rave about.
Inside is just a standard restaurant not really a lounge feel, reminded me more of a chain restaurant atmosphere.

Winter Reverie
I have been to this place at least three times and I finally got to dine in and what can I say? The ambience is cozy and dark. It is t a large place but that works to it’s benefit. We arrived in the afternoon on a Sunday and it was practically ours to enjoy.
The drinks were amazing. The lycee Iced Tea was my drink and it was sweet, understanding the assignment.
The sushi we had was the Spicy Girl, the Super Dragon, Daddy’s Girl, and the Tiger roll. They were divine!
We will be coming back to try them all.
Side Note: Carryout from here is really good!

I have gone two times in the past week, and let me tell you, this sushi spot is excellent. The house ramen is some of the best I’ve had! The broth is fantastic, full of flavor and perfect on a cold day (I would pay to have the broth by itself). The meat seemed to be marinated and cooked perfectly, as it was so tender and juicy. I’ve also had a few of the sushi rolls, and they were superb! The Dynamite roll is excellent, and so is the Crazy Roll. The drink menu is on the smaller side, but it offers a good range of drinks. There’s something for everyone. Staff is very friendly, attentive, and the restaurant is always very clean. This may just be my new sushi spot.

We ordered take out over the phone recently. They’re good at taking the order and answering any questions that you may have. But, they don’t tell you about the $4.20 surcharge applied to your bill for carry out these days (more on this later).
We ordered spicy beef ramen with bulgogi beef, and chicken teriyaki udon.
For a whopping $4 extra on the ramen they give you 4, maybe 5 pieces of measly looking beef, coming to a total of $15. The ramen was standard, at best. They’re also very stingy with vegetables, as we only got 1 piece of broccoli and asparagus, and some chopped spring onion.
I ordered teriyaki udon, instead I got sesame udon, with chicken. The udon was just way too sweet. Like, overbearing kind of sweet. So much that I didn’t enjoy it. I did get decent amount of chicken for the $2 extra.
Now, the $4+ they charge is totally unjustified as the packaging is really nothing special and probably costs them pennies. We’re talking about standard styrofoam boxes, so I’m not sure what the surcharge is about. Plus, they should disclose it on their website and mention it while you’re placing your order (we had to call back because the math didn’t add up for us and that’s when we were told about it).
We’re looking to support local businesses during these times, but with this place, we didn’t feel like we got value for our $.

The food was good and the flavor too but the quantity of the plate or what you order is not relative to what you pay. The pic of the sushi are 2 orders. my spicy girl arrived with 5 slices of sushi but the flavor was good. The desert was excellent.

Must go BACK! THIS place was great! Nice vibes great waitress and Bartender. Knew how to do good drinks. The food was EXCELLENT! if I could eat the whole menu I would have ordered it. I had the Lion King baked Sushi and the Crazy Crunch sushi rolls. Definitely going back.

Server with the La Dispute tattoo on her back is super duper nice and very attentive. She made me feel really comfortable and happy to be here even though I was being super awkward. She even offered me my order sheet back so that I could remember what I ordered. Food was amazing and well worth the wait. Prices are worth it. Bathrooms and lounge are absolutely gorgeous. Two thumbs up .

We went here on a Wednesday at 6pm. There was only what seemed to be 1 other set of people dining in. We order our food with the server who seemed to be be a nice older Asian man, and he asked us to write down what we want to order.
Later on, one of the older ladys who we thought was a customer of the restaurant came and set down our plates, and almost bumped into our server with our sushi. Now it doesn’t really matter to us, but she looked like she was there to eat and leave, her attire looked like she was going to the grocery store right after. It just seemed very surreal that we got our plates from someone who we thought was a customer, and then never spoke to them again. So it ended up we were the only people dining in at that time.
I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen and my boyfriend ordered some chefs choice sushi and nigiri.
The best way to describe the food was it tasted like we went to a cafeteria to get it.
I’ve had different types of Tonkatsu ramen, and was excited to try from here. It honestly tasted like chicken noodle with a fancy bullion added to it, mixed with egg. Very strange combination of vegetables, and it doesn’t even come with meat. You have to pay $4 for pork, and if you take a look at the picture it’s gray and was flavorless. I’m used to super salty foods so it didn’t bother me, but my boyfriend tried my ramen and said it was extremely salty.
Sadly I didn’t take a picture of the sushi, but it was so stale looking. 3 peices of nigiri, one tuna, one salmon, and I can’t remember the last one. And I think a California roll. My boyfriend said the rice wasn’t flavorful, and that it was just very bland. Same with the miso soup.
The people were nice, but the food was very plain didn’t look amazing, and we paid $40 for it with only 1 extra soda added to the bill. For the same amount we could have gotten take out sushi from Sake Sushi, and ramen from City Ramen both in Royal Oak, and had the same experience but 4x better food.
This place feels like Japanese food but for kids with no taste buds.
