My husband and I went here for a date on Saturday evening, it was a unique and fun experience! We opted for the Sultan’s feast (which had around 4 courses, all delicious) including lentil soup, hummus and pita, mint tea, chicken and beef curry with couscous, and a baklava for dessert. The highlight was the friendly and talented belly dancer who performed for us while we ate. Our only complaint was that the server seemed like he was in a hurry to get us out of there, and didn’t seem friendly or approachable. Otherwise, I highly recommend checking this place out!

Phenomenal food. I can’t say it’s the best Moroccan food ever since it was my first time eating it but it was absolutely delicious. If you’ve had Middle Eastern then that’s a good reference point but the use of spices is almost Indian. Don’t hesitate if you’re thinking about it. Service was great and you get a lot of food so prepare yourself.

The food is delicious! The service and workers are great and they have really fair prices for the quality of the food. The restaurant on the inside is very beautiful and the chairs are very comfortable! Lastly the entertainment is great! Overall this is definitely my favorite restaurant in town and knowing that it has been here since 1984 really proves how amazing this establishment is!

I had reservations for dinner when I arrived I was shocked to find only 8 parking spaces. There is no additional parking anywhere near the restaurant. So go early and plan to walk to eat. The service makes up for the lack of parking. They were super attentive. The food was good and plentiful. They had belly dancing that night and the dancer was super interactive with the crowd. It’s a small place but well worth the visit.

My wife had called to make a reservation to eat here hoping to see belly dancers as advertised on their website, since it was our 21st anniversary and we wanted to do something special and different. We had called a little prior to our reservation to confirm the time as we were running a little late and they didn’t appear to have our reservation but said it didn’t really matter what time we got there since they were slow, so we got there at 7:00. It took several minutes before someone came to seat us. There were only three other tables in the restaurant totaling 13 people. We get seated and wait for over 20 minutes for water. Everything took incredibly long to get to our table. There were at least 5 staff members and just the three other tables there, two of which were also just as dismayed at how long everything was taking. To add to it, there was NO belly dancer, the main reason we picked this place! In this economy, we don’t get to go out to eat often and have to save it for special occasions so we were really disappointed in the price for the food and overall experience, especially since we had told them when we arrived that it was our first time and our anniversary. Had there been a dancer there though then that would have definitely been fair for the price, but there was not so we felt ripped off in price but also our time. It took 2 hours start to finish before we were able to get out of there and that was after my wife went and told them we needed to leave to get back home to our kids, then they brought the baklava and tea. I don’t know if it’s customary for it to take that long for them to serve the food, but if so they should explain that when you first come in, especially since we told them we were first-timers or on their website. I don’t think we’ll ever be back.

The most authentic moroccan food I have ever taste in USA. The food is very delicious. The environment looks like you’re in one of the the prestigious “Riad” in Morocco. The service is unique they will wash your hand before you eat. Thank you so much.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been this impressed by a dining experience. The food here was phenomenal, the service was fantastic, and the entertainment was outstanding. It’s a small intimate space so I recommend making a reservation but this place is 100% worth a visit. I will be back. Try the coffee when you visit it’s to die for.

This place used to be a family favorite but their poor customer service got in the way of enjoying my mom’s birthday. It took 15 minutes to get the appropriate number of plates and had to get up to get them ourselves, we had to ask for the appropriate number of waters, the server only offered hand wash to half the party, the server was dressed like he was heading to a baseball game, and on top of that they chased us out to the parking lot saying our dinner wasn’t paid for, which was their mistake for looking at the wrong receipt. I’d give them 1 star but their food was actually pretty good.

Been coming here for over 10 years, will always make a trip whenever I’m in town. It’s my favorite Sacramento eat! RIP to the original owners – I was so heartbroken when this restaurant closed down “permanently”. I’m so grateful it found a way to still exist.

I always get the Sultan’s Feast for 2 people and it’s so much food. Everything’s delicious. Their tea is so good, but very caffeinated. I can never remember what the dish is called but my favorite is the powered sugar, savory pastry!!!
