Felt really “homey and professional”! I definitely got the NOLA vibes. Waitress was nice and pleasant. Manager came to check on us. Drink And food was legit good. I will be back for sure price wasn’t bad at all either.

I have to say I didnt expect the food to be as good as it was. It is in a strip mall that is undergoing renovation so there is not much going on when we went except for the restaurant. We took and shot and we weren’t disappointed. I not only ate the okra bites I enjoyed them at home with a few other leftovers. Check them out. Ate every bite.

I have to give my honest opinion , and after eating here several times I will say it’s a hit and miss . First time was amazing everything was good hot and fresh .2nd and 3rd time the only thing good was the corn bread and greens which is about the only consistent thing I’ve had . I’m only speaking on the catfish nuggets plate with greens and Mac . I just would appreciate if they fried the fish in fresh grease you can tell it was old grease. $21 plate not cheap so please fry it fresh left pic not good right pic first time you can see the difference

This visit was not the best this time around. The waitress was very nice and she did her job well. The women’s bathroom was out of order which was strange. No one was there but me and my friends so I went into the mens bathroom. It was not very clean. Not only was it not very clean there was weed sitting on top of the paper towel dispenser. I have never seen anything like that anywhere people are going to do what they do but that is unacceptable for any establishment where you are serving the public.

It took a minute for the fine food which is fine because I rather it right and fresh. I had the gumbo and the catfish fillet. The gumbo was ok but it was kinda cold. The seasoning was great. After I took the rest home and warmed it up, it was really good. The catfish filets were not catfish fillets, they are swai you taste the difference between the two. This would not be a big deal if it was advertised as sawi instead of catfish, which is very misleading. Because if I knew that I would have ordered something else . It was not cooked to my liking. I had to go home and put it in the air fryer longer to get the texture I was looking for because it was very chewy versus that firm texture I should have had.

As we are waiting on the food we hear the music coming from the kitchen which is very different from what they are playing in the dining area. Normally when I go here the televisions are on and we hear soft music from the speakers. We watch the man play his instruments on the televisions or look at whatever game they have on. It gives off a real homie vibe and this time around we did not get that experience.

I have been to this establishment on several occasions and had a great experience. I refer people there all the time because of the good experience I had. I am very disappointed this time around. If I do return I hope that my experience will be better.

We went on a Saturday shortly after they opened, there was only about 4 booths that were occupied. We ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes, which my wife loved. She also ordered the Catfish Nuggets with Mac n Cheese and Collard Greens. The fish was seasoned well, the Mac n cheese was thick and creamy and the collard green were cooked well. I ordered the Brunch Platter and it was all good, I ate it all with no complaints. All the food was good and we had no complaints. A guy driving through the parking lot saw us leaving and asked how it was. We told him that the food was great and that he should definitely try it.

This was my first time at this place. The person that took my order was professional and nice. However the price for my meal was $27 and some change. I ordered the 4 fried chicken wings, collard greens and sweet potatoes with a side of Mac and cheese. The sweet potatoes wasn’t sweet at all. The Mac and cheese is OVERBEARING with cheese but ok. The collard greens were ok. The chicken was seasoned well but tasted old ( maybe the grease need to be changed) I was going to purchase a slice of cake but at $6 for a THIN and I do mean THIN slice of cake wasn’t worth it. The dining area was nice with a New Orleans theme. I give place 3 times before I’m done. I’ll try back not soon but I will try this place again. Bottom line I know I won’t finish this plate so this was money wasted

I kept seeing this restaurant pop up on Door Dash so today (May 4, 2025) I decided to take an uber from my hotel to the restaurant to dine in. It was not what I’ve expected. The food was mediocre. Turkey Leg and Cornbread were the two best things on our plates. If they switch out regular butter to honey butter, the cornbread muffin would really be good! Yams wasn’t cooked all the way through. Mac and cheese was dry due to it being over baked. Collards greens were lacking turkey and seasoning. It was also cold. They also need to cut up the collards a little bit more. Meatloaf wasn’t firm enough. Maybe it was lacking breadcrumbs? Didn’t like the gravy on it. So I scraped it off and put ketchup on it. Which helped it tasted a little bit better. The Deviled Eggs was lacking flavor. It was really bland.

As far as the service from our server, Yasmine it was horrible! We waited awhile before she took our order. The restaurant wasn’t packed so I’m not sure why we had to wait as long as we did. It was no sense of urgency. When she finally came to our table, she never smiled nor gave any suggestions from the menu especially since this was our first time visiting the restaurant. She kept forgetting things. Which caused our cornbread and deviled eggs to come out later than our food. She never apologized or checked on us to ask if the food was ok or if we needed a refill on our drinks. Nor did she let us know how long we had to wait for our cornbread and deviled eggs. She sat at the bar and was more focused on what was on her phone than the service she provided for us. This was far worst service that I’ve received from a server and I really didn’t want to leave her tip. However, since I’m in the hospitality industry and a person who also works for their tips, I felt obligated to leave something. She lucky I have a heart because most people wouldn’t have left her nothing due to the service that was provided. Oh the only time she did smile it was when we were walking out the door. Which looked like was more of a “smile of relief” because she can finally chill and play on her phone without any “distractions” (My boyfriend and I were the last to to leave)

As far as the restaurant, it is decorated nicely. The music that was playing from someone’s playlist was also good. I sang almost every song that was playing. That was really the highlight of my experience. I really felt like I’ve wasted a $100. I probably was better off going to a casino and putting my money in a slot machine. At least my odds of “winning” probably would’ve been a bit little better.

Also.. By me being a bartender, in order for me to want cocktail from a bar, the bar has to look appealing. From the looks of the bar, I would like to see a better variety. It didn’t enough of different types of spirits or liqueurs that would attract people and make them want to indulge in a cocktail. For the bar to be as small as it is.. please make it stand out to attract your consumers to want a drink or two!

I did see the restaurant also have a few item on the brunch menu that appeared appealing, but what I’ve experienced today.. I may not be back. I rarely write any reviews about any establishments. The last time I’ve wrote a review was years ago so that alone should speak volumes.

I recently dined at Café de LàSha, a black owned restaurant, located at 119 Florissant Oaks Shopping Center in Florissant, Missouri. The restaurant offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere, specializing in soul food with a Cajun Creole twist.

During my visit, I enjoyed a meal that included three chicken wings, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, cornbread muffins, candied yams, and waffles. The food was flavorful and satisfying, reflecting the homestyle Southern cooking that the restaurant is known for.

Overall, I would rate my experience at Café de LàSha a solid 7 out of 10. It’s a great spot to enjoy comforting soul food in a welcoming environment.

SUPPORT BLACK OWNED RESTAURANTS !!
Lexis is a great hostess. She tries to crack jokes and make you comfortable. The fried tomatoes were delicious. The catfish etoufee is delicious. The waffle is great too. I forgot to take a picture of my shrimp pasta but that was delicious as well. I have no complaints it is a cute restaurant. Will come back to support again.

Visiting my hometown and stumbled upon this spot. I was drawn by the Cajun flair menu but was actually in the mood for waffles.
I was immediately greeted by Derek. He is a customer service guru. His personality makes the dinning area delightful . He told me about current menu options and let me know he makes amazing drinks if I was interested.
I ordered the brunch platter with turkey sausage. I asked about coffee because I didn’t baee it on the menu. He immediately offered to make me some coffee even though it’s not something they serve. The food came out hot, fresh and flavorful. I appreciate the care in the food plating. They didn’t throw items on several plates and bring them. They careful placed items in a way that looked appealing.
Derek did a good job with the coffee even though he let me know he didn’t make it often. I really appreciated the extra effort to make sure I was satisfied.
He also checked in often. Not in an annoying way but a manner that let me know he actually cared about my dinning experience.
The music playing in the dinning area was great. I couldn’t stop singing the RnB. My only complaint is it’s a bit loud but ai assume that’s so the kitchen and people dining can hear it.
This was the best food I’ve had so far since coming to my hometown. I was more than pleased and happy it is also a black owned establishment!
