Guests of the Winery will enjoy a rotating wine list with selections from around the world highlighting African American owned labels paired with an ever changing seasonal menu that features comfort foods, reimagined with house grown greens as well as locally grown and produced ingredients. The intention of Bronzeville Winery is to create a menu that is as eloquent, interesting and dynamic as the history that shaped the South side of Chicago. With sharing at its core, the Bronzeville Winery will feature a menu paying homage to the flavors of the African diaspora paired with wine, craft cocktails and beer for every palate, served in a comfortable, welcoming location for the community to gather.

First, the food was fantastic! The wine pairings were perfect. They were out of lamb chops, but offered an upgrade to a lamb shank for the same price. The salmon tagliatelle was perfect in its execution. Brussels sprouts were amazing in their honey, spicy sauce.
Second, we (2 people) were seated at 7:40 and didn’t see a server until after 8 to take our order. They arrived with a complimentary sparkling wine glass. Main dishes arrived at 9 (they close at 9). It’s 9:48 and still waiting to receive the check. Requested to-go boxes as the hint that we were planning to leave soon almost 30 mins ago…have not seen the server for apologies or questions for dessert or some form of communication. I’m writing this review as I wait.
Lastly, live DJ spinning great dinner music, but way too loud to enjoy your company’s conversation.
Don’t know what happened tonight, but for a $200 headache, I WILL NOT return with service like this.

I’d heard good things about this place, so I decided to give it a try. The ambience was nice, though the music was a bit too loud, we had to raise our voices to talk. We ordered shrimp and crispy Brussels sprouts for appetizers, which took at least 30 minutes to arrive. For the entrée, we had the Creole Salmon Tagliatelle and the Lamb Shank, which came about 20 minutes after the appetizers.
The food and wine were excellent, but the wait time was excessive, especially since the restaurant wasn’t busy. The menu was also limited, they didn’t have the Signature Burger or Little Chicken Biscuits. Our waitress was great and handled everything well, but the long wait made the experience less enjoyable. They really need a better system. Also, automatically adding a 20% gratuity isn’t a good look.

I came here with a few friends for a birthday celebration. The drinks were ok and the food was good but way too salty, like overwhelming salty, like an un measured amount of salt. Other than that our waitress was nice the atmosphere was nice.

I have visited Bronzeville Winery a number of times. This time, I had an early birthday celebration at Bronzeville Winery. The service was very good and the ambiance was unmatched. The food, however is inconsistent. When the restaurant owners are there, the food is amazing, but as soon as they leave or the evening grows later, the food quality dips. It is disappointing because I love this restaurant and their investment in the community. I had the salmon tagliatelle, which was delicious and had a beautiful presentation. The truffle fries were cooked perfectly. The cava was delightfully palatable. The peach cobbler was very forgettable. Lastly, I really enjoyed and appreciated my server, Corrine Z. She was thoughtful and I was in awe as she handled multiple tables with ease. Overall, I am happy I celebrated my birthday there and look forward to next time.

We had a great time at Bronzeville Winery! We tried a mix of dishes—the shrimp and stone-ground grits were rich and flavorful, the herb-crusted rack of lamb was tender and well-seasoned, and the little chicken and biscuit was such a fun comfort bite. The appetizers were a nice start and the wine we ordered paired really well with everything. The vibe was stylish and relaxed, and service was friendly, though the pacing was a little slow at times. Overall, delicious food and good wine in a beautiful space.

I stopped by Bronzeville Winery for Sunday brunch during a business trip to Chicago and was really looking forward to the experience. I love that it is both Black owned and women owned, which makes it such a gem in the city. The space is beautiful, with thoughtful decor and a warm, stylish atmosphere.
I ordered the chicken and waffles and they were absolutely delicious. Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The coffee was also surprisingly good. Whatever was in the milk it came with made it completely addictive. I’m still thinking about it.
I would have given this place 5 stars, but the service brought the experience down. Our server wasn’t very attentive and had to be waved down every time we needed something. He also forgot a few items we asked for. I’ll chalk it up to him having an off day, but it definitely impacted the visit.
Still, I’d come back. The food and vibe are worth another shot.

Bronzeville winery is a lovely addition to my neighborhood! I’ve visited for happy hour and came to try their dinner for restaurant week this year. The portions were large – I probably should’ve ordered the smaller $45 menu but I had to try the salmon. It did not disappoint! The pumpkin hummus was interesting – not something I’d usually order, but tasty. And the peach cobbler à la mode was good, as I expected (not sure it tops Shawn Michelle’s though). I had a ginger cocktail that tasted a bit watered down but my friend was impressed with the yam old fashioned. The short rib and harissa seafood pasta also got good reviews. Overall the service was good, maybe a little slow but it was busy. I found the atmosphere/music a bit loud but not abnormally so (I have a small voice so I tend to prefer a quiet environment). Overall I enjoyed the food and I would come back again for a special occasion.

Bronzeville Winery is a gem! The vibe is warm, modern, and welcoming, and the food absolutely is good. I was especially happy to see thoughtful vegan options on the menu—big win for inclusivity. Jasmine took such great care of us—attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience feel effortless. The only hiccup was the fries coming out a bit cold, but honestly, everything else was so good that it barely mattered. Between the atmosphere, service, and menu, this is definitely a spot worth coming back to.

I recently booked a reservation for Brunch at this winery to celebrate my birthday and was excited to support a Black Owned Business and taste some different wines. This was my first time at this winery and when we arrived we were seated at our table and greeted by a waitress who told us she was new and didn’t know if she would be our waitress. Shortly afterwards, another waitress came to the table and said she would be our waitress. We placed our orders and it took over 30 minutes for our order to come out. After placing our order, the waitress told us they were out of bread, go figure how does a restaurant run out of bread for Brunch, this was around noon on a Sunday and there was barely anyone in the restaurant! While we waited for our food, we inquired about the wine tasting flights which were super expensive $60 for 5, 2 oz servings, what a ripoff! So, we passed on the wine tasting which was the main reason I came to the winery (But guess what, later headed over to Cooper’s Hawk for there wine tasting which cost $17 for about the same number of samples). When our food came out, the presentation was nice but it was down hill after that because they put a red sauce on the Shrimp & Grits dish that tasted like some mexican enchilada sauce which threw the taste of the food completely off…..Yuck! Out of the 3 of us that ordered the Shrimp & Grits, none of us enjoyed the food! My sister order the steak & eggs, and was told there was no steak sauce for the small bland & dry steak. My Brother-in Love had the waffle & chicken thighs, which looked burnt but he said it was okay. This place was a total disappointment! The ONLY silver lining in our experience at this restaurant was a lady named Susan that came to our table listened to our concerns about the food and gave us complimentary wine and discounted our bill! I think it’s important to support black owned businesses, however there’s no way I can recommend this restaurant to anyone in good conscious! The ambience & decor is nice, the food was horrible (and they were out of several things that enhance your dining experience like bread & steak sauce) the wine was way over-priced, and the service was slow. I’ve been to many wineries and this place is a big fat NO…..I won’t be back and I wouldn’t recommend this place to nobody!
