The absolute best handrolls I have ever had and will ever have!!! I ordered the spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and spicy yellowtail handrolls. The rolls taste extremely fresh and the housemade soy sauce is incredible. The service is quick! I can’t wait to come back.

Amazing experience for my first time at a hand roll bar. Initially I thought the price per hand roll was high, but the portion size, freshness of the fish, and watching everything prepared in front of you completely changed my mind. The miso butter cod was outstanding. I’ll definitely be returning.

Made a spontaneous stop at this Nori shop and we were impressed from the quality of the hand rolls, sake selections to the friendly service.
It was like watching an art piece to be crafted while sitting by the sushi bar having the chef piece together the hand rolls.
Price is not cheap but you get what you pay for, the portions are generous and I got full after 3 rolls. I am sure others can eat more than me, but 3 is my max
Intimacy atmosphere, nicely decorated with semi automatic Izakaya vibe. Clean seatings. A great place to enjoy some quality rolls with refreshing sake.
Highly recommend by @WineDinenVacay

Probably my favorite sushi spot in Philly. Fresh, crispy hand rolls, great service, and solid portions for the price. The foie gras with A5 is a must

Genuinely one the best meals I’ve ever had. You have to try this! If you like umami and savory sushi that melts in your mouth you have to come here. My favorite was the miso cod and salmon and truffle edamame. And for the quality and experience, it is so reasonably priced. It’s like a humble version of omakase but just as delicious. I’m still thinking about this meal!!!

The restaurant has an amazing atmosphere! The miso butter cod, eel, and blue crab is soooo goood. I personally recommend the spicy shrimp tempura. I really like how they put lemon in their water to make it taste better. It is a must-visit spot

Really enjoyed this spot. The hand rolls were good and super fresh, and the overall atmosphere was calm and relaxing, great for actually enjoying your meal without feeling rushed. The servers were attentive and checked in at just the right times. My favorite hand roll was the miso cod, which was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Would definitely come back.

I’ve been here twice and already can’t wait to come back again! The fish quality and flavor combinations are top notch, and each roll comes with a fair amount of fish. The spicy yellowtail is special to me some reason, but I’m definitely going to be trying their whole menu. The new mocktail was great too. Side note, they have by far the best wasabi and ginger for their price point!

I was very disappointed with Chubby Nori. We ate here yesterday 1/31/2026. I was excited to come here since I’ve been seeing this restaurant in Instagram for a while. Firstly, the spot is very small. The sushi Bar can probably sit less than 20 people. The tables were for the Japanese bbq. We did not do the Japanese bbq. Secondly, there were a lot of items on the small menu that they have that was not available. The only tequila cocktail that they have was not available so we subbed it for vodka. It was mediocre. There were also a couple hand rolls that were not available. I really wanted to try the one with caviar and that was not available. Additionally, the servers barely checked on us. The sushi chef was very timely, but the servers were very slow. We already ate three hand rolls before our cocktail came to us. Also, one of the hand rolls I ordered was not good. I believe it was the yellow tail. Not sure if the fish was not fresh. But I didn’t finish that. The whole experience was very underwhelming, which is a shame. I’d say go somewhere else for handrolls

Overall really good food! I loved all the different handrolls I ordered, everything tasted fresh . They also stuff them full with filling!! It’s a handroll bar so all the seating is at the counter where they make it right in front of you. There was a bit of a wait since it’s first come first serve with no reservations. My only complaint is the service felt a bit rushed, so docking a star for that, but still worth trying! I would come back as this seems like a really great handroll place in Philly!
