Decide to support the new opening and ordered a to go order last night. I got the number 9 that was named after the restaurant so i was thinking it had to be good. When i got home i was disappointed to find that the shrimp that came on top of the steak, that was also covered in cheese and veggies, had tails on them. It came with tortillas so i just assumed it would be ready to slap in a tortilla but i was wrong. The steak was so tough and over cooked, i had to put it on a plate to try my best to cut it up. It tasted pretty okay, kinda bland besides the cheese but it was okay. I’m not picky at all, i just thought that spending $15 for the signature dish named after the restaurant would be better than it was. It was just a dissatisfying experience that i hope will improve if i ever return.

El Sabor de mi Tierra has moved into the former Long John Silvers building on Rhea County Highway. Went in for Father’s Day supper. This was the best meal in a restaurant since arriving in Dayton. The service was great. The owners are humble and friendly. No doubt they are a bit overwhelmed since moving from downtown to their new location, but they have handled the new opening well. We enjoyed great food made to order using the freshest ingredients! Wow, so excited to finally get a restaurant that has a great atmosphere, friendly owners, with great service and great food!

El Sabor goes above and beyond in customer service. Wait staff are very friendly and attentive! The food is reasonably priced, ready quickly, and delicious. I highly recommend the molcajete or any form of their nachos. The location is a bit tricky, but you will not regret dining here!

I took my authentic Mexican parents here and lets just say four stars is generous. The staff could use more organization but overall they were good. The food has many standard items such as Mexican rice, refried beans, cheese sauce, and more. They only give three factory made tortillas which is not enough. The food is overall is good but leaves more to be desired.

In town for a fishing tournament. Googled Mexican food Dayton and there are like 10 other Mexican restaurant in town. They all looked the same with all the usual menus.
I was looking for really good Mexican food, not run of the mill; found it! Do not over look this place downtown!
The owner waited on me and cooked the food. I ordered the mexican chicken tacos (street tacos) and I was certain the corn tortillas were made from scratch. So I asked the owner and he said absolutely; everything we make is made fresh.
Next time back to fish lake Chicamauga…I’ll be eating here again.

The atmosphere is nice, pretty, and very clean. The owner/host was super friendly and fun to talk with.
The food wasn’t as good as we hoped, it didn’t have spice or kick; it was a little bland, although the plates looked good and we’re beautifully arranged.
I would go back, but try something different.

Awesome!!! Like the other reviewer said, “Best mexican food in Dayton”, hands down! I had the ‘3’ steak tacos. I asked if the meat was lean with NO disernable ‘fat’. He said ‘Yes’, and it was, indeed!!! Moist, lean, and delicious!!! I will definitely be back!

One of my favorite restaurants. We are picky when it comes to Mexican food. My husband and I enjoy dining in or take out. Food is always fresh and authentic very good. The owner is always nice and friendly.

Food was good. I was gonna give it 5 stars until they played bad bunny on the speakers. Also service needs to be better. We got there before 2 other tables and we were served last and I thought they had to kill the cow first.
