This place was amazing! They started us off with bread and marinara sauce, which was a great touch. For my main course, I ordered the Caribbean shrimp pasta, and the subtle hint of coconut was absolutely delicious. The sangria was huge and worth it! The arancini was good, but it’s probably the only thing I wouldn’t order again. My brother got the shrimp scampi and it was extremely bland so I would not recommend.

I used to hate eating pasta, every time I tried it in Costa Rica, Panama, or Nicaragua, it made me feel bad, and I never understood why people enjoyed it. Everything changed on November 23rd, 2023, when I visited Pasta Pronto in Costa Rica on my very first date with my partner. That night, I didn’t even touch my pasta dish because of my prejudice against pasta, I only ate the arancinis.
But over time, their pomodoro pasta completely changed my life and after more than two years eating here, the quality has improved. Pasta Pronto is now not only the place where we remember our first date, but also the restaurant that made me fall in love with Italian food. As someone who is autistic, finding a food that feels safe and comforting is rare, and Pasta Pronto gave me that gift.
I go there for dinner, I order on Uber Eats, and the quality is always the same, perfect. Even writing this review, I’m still thinking about their arancinis. My favorites are:
– Arancinis
– Raviolis (ricotta and spinach)
– Breaded shrimp
– Bolognese pasta
– Pomodoro pasta (the best pomodoro I’ve ever had!)

DO NOT GET THE SHRIMP SCAMPI. Very plain and bitter. Absolutely no flavor. The reason I am still giving this establishment 4 stars is because the service was second to none and the atmosphere is very nice. Everyone else food in the group was good!

I stumbled upon this hidden gem during my last visit San Jose and knew I had to come back and I’m so glad I did! It’s just as good as I remembered. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the ambiance is warm and inviting. Definitely a place worth returning to again and again.

My daughter’s birthday was December 9, 2024. Carlos was our waiter. He was very nice. He gave her a free birthday dessert. I had shrimp scampi and I believe she has spaghetti. The garlic rolls were delicious as well. I forgot the drinks that we had I think she had a strawberry daiquiri and I had a special. House to drink not sure the name I highly recommend this place

This restaurant uses the freshest ingredients and it shows. The food is delicious. Our family of four with 2 grown kids had eaten dinner at 4 different places since arriving on vacation to Costa Rica and this places is hands down the best. We had the squid appetizer, garlic bread rolls, house salad, American salad, caprese salad, ‘Italian married man with steak’, shrimp scampi pasta, Tico’s Bolognese pasta, Alfredo pasta with mushrooms. The sangria and margarita were pleasing to the senses. If we weren’t so full we would have tried the deserts. Would definitely come back and recommend it to others.

The wait staff was attentive, companionable, and helpfully suggestive.
Every dish had exceptional presentation
The food smelled so good I began to eat immediately and forgot to take photos of many of the dishes.
I would advise you to keep the selections simpler, as many of the add-ons or improvements that are available to the dishes and drinks can overly complicate them and can hide the already excellent tastes.
There are five outdoor tables available for up to 16 patrons. Four tables under a canopy, and one table for two under the eaves of the building. They are all shielded from view of the parking lot and the atmosphere is pleasant and surprisingly private.
We spent about C36,000 for two lemonades, two entrees, a shared appetizer and a shared desert.

I stopped writing reviews a while ago since it was too much of work.
However, I made an exception for this joint. The gentleman running the show is really cool. The food is even more amazing. He explained everything that went into his food. I may not come to CR again since there are so many more amazing places in the world to see, but I would highly recommend this cool place, for lunch or diner to everyone.

Great dining experience for our family. We were craving Italian to celebrate Thanksgiving in Costa Rica and Pasta Pronto hit the spot.
We used ride share to get there so I wouldn’t know about the parking situation.
The atmosphere: approaching the front we were greeted by festive Italian inspired music. Although there was a dining room indoor, we chose to dine al fresca.
Don’t let the size of the restaurant fool you:
While we dined-in I witnessed several food delivery service people for pick-up orders.
The seating outdoors can comfortably seat 2 tables of 4 and 2 tables of 2.
The owner was warm, inviting and well versed with the menu.
We used an ipad to scan the menu.
The drinks:

We ordered a strawberry smoothie, a mango margarita and a really delicious homemade te frio. My daughter commented with every sip how good it was.
Appetizers: the squid was great; the owner was not satisfied with the first attempt by his new chef, but he did let us decide which was better- I have eaten at many a restaurants, never had I had the option to tasting which calamari was better.
We ordered several different pasta’s and all were amazing and full of flavor. Also ordered chicken wings: fried perfectly.
Dessert: we tried the pineapple cheesecake and the carrot cake. I enjoyed both, BUT the pineapple cheesecake had my heart.
We were also given some cookies on the house.
All in all, a wonderful night.

Eastside Events
Service was fantastic! The restaurant was very accommodating and food was very good. We ordered the pasta, chicken and salad combo. The outdoor seating is in a parking lot but is still cozy and seats are comfortable. Indoor there are lots of seats but a little dark. The indoor seating would not deter me from dining, just to clarify. I highly recommended it.
