This jawn hits different.
Quality food and service. For the price they have, it’s great. I always get nervous that I’m gonna pay 15 dollars for a sandwich that’s 5 inches but the size was perfect for the price. Tbh places charge more for less but this place found the balance for such a novelty meal on a food truck.
Cheesesteak is mad solid. It’s not Amoroso rolls but I found out the bread is made daily by a guy from Italy and it tastes like it. I honestly prefer fresh made bread than have Amoroso rolls shipped out to the west coast frozen and thawed out to be a former glory of itself. That’s usually what happens on the west coast and it doesn’t translate well but Philly on the Block has beautiful bread. A display of craft through and through.
As for the patty melt…it was the comfort food I never knew I needed. It absolutely hits different. I wasn’t too sure about it because it’s a not a typical cheesesteak but man does that jawn hit different. That sauce is BANGIN. Scoop that if you can. 10/10 solid all around.

The food here is absolutely unreal the breakfast burrito was a biblical experience. The owners are incredibly nice and genuinely care about making quality food. I would highly recommend the breakfast burrito as well the OTB cheesesteak. I would share a photo of the food but I already demolished all of it. Would recommend!

To sum up a Great Cheesestake Sandwich one needs to look at five basic factors, The meat, the cheese, the bread, the build and the most important The Taste. Philly on the Block took time and mastered all five factors to make a Sandwich that will have you coming back for more. It’s built correctly with the correct amount of meat and cheese, it is Not just another greasy Cheesestake. When eating this Cheesestake I did not want to drink my soda because I did not want to ruin the great taste, it’s Five Stars and I don’t see how anyone can top it.

These are by far the skimpiest cheesesteaks around. For the price, you most certainly don’t get any bang for your buck. I even mentioned to (who I’m assuming is one of the owners) that as a Philly native, we like our cheesesteaks with that perfect cheese to ribeye ratio. I told him that cheesesteaks back home come hefty with generous amounts of steak and other fixings. He said he didn’t like to make them that way. That he basically likes serving small portions & well, I knew at the moment that I wouldn’t be returning. The cheesesteak was dry, barely had any cheese on it and barely any ribeye. I didn’t enjoy Philly on the Block at all! And for the price, I’m annoyed I wasted my hard earned money on something so subpar.

Michelin-star chef on board, literally. The OTB Philly cheesesteak was absolutely fire, and the two guys running this truck are every bit as impressive as their food. This is exactly the kind of small business that deserves recognition and support. Keep up the amazing work, fellas
