My husband and I came here for a nice hot dinner on a very cold 33 degree evening. We seated ourselves after looking around at the seating options, no problem; however, we were supposed to wait to be seated but there’s no sign saying that and there was no staff anywhere to tell us that. The waitress was very nice, but never offered refills on our 12oz sodas. It was not busy whatsoever. We ordered HOT roast beef and gravy sandwiches. Waitress left, we bit into our hot roast beef, took a bite and BOTH were room temperature!!! I got up and tried to find her and the bartender was going to get her but she finally came back out from the food area in the back. I explained the food was cold. She apologized. I asked if she could have it heated for us. She said sure if not we’ll just remake it. She came back after a few minutes and said she just reheated. Each meal was 15.95. so for 15.95 each we got a cold meal, had to wait for reheated, and ate a warmed up meal, with no soda refills. Although it the sandwich was hot and tasted good, the fries not so much and it’ll be a very long time before we return, IF we return. Sodas were 2.95 each.

It’s a little hidden away (it’s behind the outdoor tavern, look for the Greek style statue for a woman) but the food was wonderful and they do have the props and costumes from the movie Gettysburg. Service was delightful. Not as expensive as I thought it would be, just over $60 for two of us including dessert. Highly recommend if you’re a fan of the movie. It was a wonderful way to cap off our day trip to the battlefield.

Sweney’s Tavern was a great choice for dinner tonight. Our server, Beth, was attentive and prompt. Our meals were delicious, and shoo-fly pie topped off our evening. Prices were reasonable.

I spent a week here one afternoon. It was the best afternoon I’ve had in a long time!
It was “Wiener Wednesday” and the Sweny’s Hot Texas Wiener did not disappoint! It was the second best wiener I’ve ever put in my mouth. The first was in a prison (look up Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary.) Dane, bartender at the garden bar, kept me entertained for several hours as I was waiting out the rain. He was actually a wealth of knowledge and shared a lot of knowledge about the area and the battles. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations. I did have to have my wife come pick me up though.

Great food. Bar tenders were great. Food was really good. Kid friendly place. My grandchitlins enjoyed the eating experience. Needs a few more ceiling fans out side. Other than that we were very pleased with this eating establishment. Thanks Lady’s and Gentlemen.

My husband & I just went there for the plated Thanksgiving dinner at the tavern.
We got there about an hour early at 5pm, sat at the bar for a few drinks while also drinking in the amazing atmosphere! Then at 6pm were seated by a wonderful window.
We were SO pleased with the service AND when our Thanksgiving dinner arrived, we each got 2 huge plates of absolutely delectable food! It was nice to take our time to eat everything as there was a LOT of incredible food!
Our waitress Brooke was just amazing & so very attentive!
This will most likely become a Thanksgiving tradition for us as it was just a fantastic evening with amazing food!
We can’t say enough good things about this wonderful tavern!

Great place located right in the heart of Gettysburg. We sat outside at a cast iron table. We both had drinks which were very good. For food, we both had pulled pork sandwiches. They were served on cool metal plates the pulled pork was good and so were the fries. I stop here every time I’m in Gettysburg!

Perfect place to grab a bite and cool off in the shade on the patio. The flatbeds we ordered were great and a nice change from pub food (burgers, wraps, sandwiches, etc.). My “General Meade” had three or four types of meat melted with cheese onto the flatbread. My wife’s “13th Georgia” included peaches, goat cheese, lettuce and tomato with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar to top it off. Both were delicious and mouthwatering.
Service staff were friendly and on top of their game. A Kid friendly place too. I would come back again if in the area.

My husband and I grabbed dinner here at our first night in Gettysburg.
My husband got the peanut soup and the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and I got the BLT wrap with applesauce.
Both meals were delicious and filling.

Stopped here for lunch while walking around Gettysburg, and then we went again later that day for drinks before dinner. Nice outdoor seating. You order at the bar, food and drinks, take your number then they bring the food out to you and you get your own drinks. Kind of a weird service platform. Wifey like her Flatbread, I enjoyed the crab cake, and we both liked the onion rings. Drinks were good.
