The food was excellent and plentiful. The service was very attentive and friendly, but not overbearing and the atmosphere is charming, depending on where you sit. We had the sample appetizer along with soup which could have been a meal in itself. The soup was reminiscent of my wife’s mother’s homemade soup and was fantastic. We took two quarts home with us. The wild boar shank was delicious and just fell off the bone. My wife had the pork chops which were perfectly cooked. The deserts were excellent as well. I had the almond cake and my wife had the flan.

So me and my husband and friends went out to dinner there tonight. My friends have went out a few weeks ago and really like the place. I wanted to take us there. It started out OK, but it turned into such a fiasco. We had ordered an appetizer and then our meals, and they brought out soup, which I thought was really good. Then we waited an awful long time and they started to bring out dinners. We asked the waiter where our appetizer was, and he said he had forgotten it. My friends husband steak was not cooked the way he wanted it. My dinner was good and my friends dinner was good my husband they gave him the wrong steak, but he said he would be OK with that and they brought him out another one that was rare and then he had to end up ordering something completely different.. the service also was extremely slow. He kept apologizing for the service, but that doesn’t really help. I will say the food was very good. Hopefully this was a one night thing, but I will honestly tell you I will not be back.

Tonight we visited the Spanish Potatoe. I didn’t know what to expect, but after this visit, it’s my new favorite restaurant!!! We walked in and were promptly seated. John was our waiter, he exceeded every waiter I’ve ever met in even the finest of restaurants. John placed my napkin on my lap, brought my platter out and placed a nice serving size on my plate in front of me, & always made sure my drink of hot water was full. The food was exceptional and the portions huge! We ordered the octopus salad and it was delicious. The leek soup was a lovely surprise, it reminded me a little, of a cross between a thin split pea and potatoe soup. I ordered the flank steak rare, it was the best flank steak I’ve ever eaten. Flank steaks are usually very thin, this was a perfect thickness; it was meaty, flavorful, juicy, and tender! I was glad the chimichuri was on the side, because I don’t always like it, but it was amazing. If you don’t typically like chimichuri, try it!!! The rice and beans that came with the meal were cooked perfect and flavorful & the plantains were so amazing, we asked for a second order, to take home with our leftovers. Dessert? Heck yeah…. I ordered the flan and it was exactly 100% authentic flan. I loved it! John put on a fresh pot of coffee and I even loved the coffee, not too strong, not weak. There wasn’t one thing I could criticize about my experience here. Even when John poured my coffee, he held a napkin in front of the pot so it wouldn’t splash on me while being poured. My fiance paid the bill and remarked to me, that the pen said “The Spanish Potatoe” on them. I told him to take it because they like to advertise their buisiness. My fiance thought that would be stealing, so he didn’t take it. On my way out, I told John that I’m a nurse and love pens, then asked him If I could take one. He said, “I’ll be right back”. Then came back with a bag of maybe 20 or more pens, (I didn’t count them). I highly recommend this restaurant, & I can be harsh in my reviews…The food, the service, the atmosphere couldn’t have been better! I have a new favorite place at the Spanish Potatoe & I can’t wait to go back!!!

We went to dinner at the Spanish potato restaurant and it was not busy at all. We had to wait an 1hr to get the entrée we ordered, the server did not apologize for the wait nor give us an update about the food. We took the food to go and the server said he’s not my fault.

I have wanted to try this restaurant for a few years and just never made it there. The decor is lovely and warm. The service is excellent. Most importantly the food is some of the best I have had! I highly recommend!!

Super authentic Portuguese food. The service is amazing. The atmosphere is great. The food is perfectly seasoned and everything is perfect. We had the paella many many times here and we shall be returning many many times to come. The prices are also very good. You should definitely try this place if you’re looking for authentic Portuguese food

Food is great. Hostess sat us in a corner facing a wall by the bathroom when there was no one in the place at 3pm. We were done at 4:30 and more than half the tables were empty. When I asked she said all tables are taken she wasn’t the sharpest tool in the drawer. My suggestion is the front of the house is just as important as the back. I am surprised that Manny would allow this. Very disappointed. So much for enjoying the afternoon out $145 later. I blame the owner.
