The food here is perfect.
I haven’t been to a good American-Chinese restaurant in so long. Especially one you can sit down in. This takes me back to when I was a kid in the 2000’s and you couldn’t go 5 miles without seeing a restaurant like this. Sadly all those that I know have closed.
The restaurant is as some would consider “outdated” but it’s everything I’ve ever wanted coming in here. It’s like going back in time, the food comes out HOT and fresh. The service is quick and they treat you with kindness.
This is going to now be my go to spot for take out, and dining in.

The woman who took our order and greeted us was quick, polite, and efficient. She clarified whether we wanted egg or spring rolls and I appreciate that as well as her promptness with letting us know the wait. (we ordered about 15 min before we arrived so we knew there would likely be a slight wait). While the service was pleasant, there was a slight odor in the restaurant even though the employees were cleaning right before closing.

Most importantly the two stars are because the food quality was poor. Chicken was not cooked well (but thankfully not raw), there was not enough seasoning or marinade for chicken (ex: no garlic taste) and very minimal vegetables included in hunan chicken dish which comes with carrots, broccolli, among other vegetables normally depending on the restaurant.

Food was hot when served but half of the portion was brown rice listed as “fried rice” but had no veggies or eggs and was bland.

Besides soy it lacked a lot of flavor, and this was disappointing. I hope cuisine improves in future hopefully this was related to ordering near closing time (45 min before) but unfortunately I would not return due to this experience. I wish them the best and service seems like it would be decent, but food quality disappointed me to the point where it overpowered the service.

I have learned there is not a perfect Chinese restaurant… But if they have decent food (they do), an interesting atmosphere (dated, but cozy), and good service (they do in the form of a delightful manager/owner, “Jenni” I believe), you can have a surprisingly good experience. I picked up dinner tonight and we had:
– Pork Egg Foo Young. Very tasty. The egg was breaded and cooked a little more than we are used to and the take out was drenched in the sauce. I normally prefer the sauce on the side, but this version just worked for us this time.
– Garlic Chicken. Best of the two items in my opinion. Simple dish with moderate garlic, and not overcooked onions, celery, and mushrooms.
– Basic fried rice. Simple and cooked about right. I added some of the Egg Foo Young sauce to add a nice flavor.
– Egg Rolls. I ate mine too fast to deconstruct it for me to comment on… other than it had some shrimp in the mix. One note, I use mustard on my egg rolls, and while the little packets looked the same as those from other restaurants, these had slightly little more heat (which I liked).

The “experience” was swayed greatly by a short but pleasant discussion about China and places “Jenni” and I had both visited. It felt like I had met a new neighbor and friend. We will return and eat-in at some point.

This place is hilarious. We ordered takeout including vegetable chow mein. Got home and opened the container and it’s literally slop. It’s vegetables floating in what looks like water. I called the restaurant to inquire about it thinking it was the wrong order and she said that was how they serve chow mein and that there was a side of dry noodles in our bag. The side of dry noodles she’s referring to is actually a bag of wontons. LOL, what? Wontons and chow mein are not the same thing.

This place is freakin gooooood!! I am VERY picky about my chinese restaurants and this place did not dissapoint!! The house fried rice was awesome and the hot braised wings were delish and crispy. I found it weird that they did not have the low sodium “green” soy sauce but I literally forgot all about it once I started eating! So good and I would highly recommend! They give you oranges and fortune cookies when you request the bill. Oh yeah, the decor and feel of the place is great. Fast service. This my freinds has earned my coveted 5 stars.

I’ve just had my second meal at the Peking Garden. It was recommended by 4 different people I work with. They were right, the food is excellent with moderate prices and friendly, helpful staff. I love all the authentic fresh Chinese vegetables. Delicious!

Food is great but I got no warning of shrimp in the egg rolls and had an allergic reaction, while mild it could have been worse as I’ve had them be really bad. Not sure I’ll return simply over that

Our take out food had very little flavor other than onion from the enormous amount they use. The onion was also not fully cut…many slices were stuck together on one end. Won’t be back here…only tried because our go to was closed

I ordered pick up and my rice tasted like burnt oil and I also got fried shrimp that was overly fried couldn’t even bite the fried shell and it tasted the same as the rice like super old burnt oil. I also got a side of fries that were all 50/50 half burnt half raw. Total waste of money.
