This is by far the BEST southern food I have ever had. I have tried many places but they do not have the love and flavor that is in this food. I encourage everyone in our community to try the food and please support this local restaurant. We need this restaurant to stay for a looooooong time. Food was so yummy and they give you a lot of food. I had left over for two days and it tasted even better the next day and the next. Will be coming here again!

I ordered the hot chicken sandwich and it was pleasantly but not aggressively spicy and everything tasted fresh. I could only ask for more pickles. So good and I would definitely come again. Between sandwich, fries, and plenty of coffee, it came out to $20 plus tip.

Absolutely the best southern food I have had in NY. And this includes manhattan.
I have lived in new Orleans, and this place would be good even there.
Our server was top tier, and so was the food. Quality down to the sweet tea. Portions are very large considering how fairly priced. Cannot wait to try some new menu items

We found Lolas on a Friday afternoon and was blown away, the fish was fried perfectly, the Mac and cheese and collards tasted like a grandmothers and the waiter (Xavier) was so kind and welcoming. We brought the family back the very next day and ordered the menu! Everything was exceptional. Cornbread was perfect. It’s not often you find soul food done right and this place knows what they are doing. I left with a strawberry shortcake cheesecake and wanting nothing.. except for maybe a walk and then my bed thank you for the great experience! We will be back.

To say that I was completely satisfied would be an understatement. I ordered the braised short ribs with mac and cheese and collard greens—and yes, we had macaroni with our cheese . It was rich, cheesy, and perfectly cooked; the noodles weren’t overdone, and the collards were seasoned just right—not overpowered, just balanced.
The short ribs were tender, juicy, and full of flavor. My husband ordered the fried catfish, which was cooked to a beautiful golden brown with a nice, crisp bite. He said the coleslaw was okay, and the black-eyed peas were good as well. We also ordered fried shrimp, which were cooked perfectly and seasoned well.
Everything was really good, and I was genuinely impressed. The place looks more like a fast-food spot than a sit-down restaurant—it’s not fancy—but when the food is this good, that doesn’t matter. We visited the location off 112. The staff was very kind, and the owner was especially friendly and personable.
Will I go back again? Absolutely.

The food at Lola’s was definitely GREAT but the service needs some improvement we were seated for about 10 minutes before we were brought menus we were never brought or asked if we would like water,we ordered our starters, drinks and our entrees at the same time. After waiting exactly 45min they brought our drinks 5mins after we were brought our starters and entree at the same time (always thought starters were to hold you over until entrees were ready) which came with no napkins.. we asked for napkins a total of 4x before we finally received.. Upon finishing our meal take out trays were asked for multiple times (to which they brought out one tray ) I guess they thought my friend was staying meanwhile we asked again for another take out tray until she had to go retrieve her own from the counter hostess..Now we’re waiting for our check a whole nother 15min before hostess from counter finally steps in and then only then did things go correctly,she apologized for our service had a very nice conversation with up while getting us checked out..She was friendly,kind just amazing so we decided to give the TIP that our server wasn’t going to get nor did she deserve it.. Overall I would still give a 5 start review and would also return but only because the food is amazing, just need to get the service together.

my first time eating food from there my daughter got us take out and babbbyyyy to say the food was delicious is a understatement!!! I have not had yams this good in sooo long BEST Food and seasoned with love will revist them again

I had the shrimp and grits. They were phenomenal. So yummy. It was quiet in here and I was wondering why it was so quiet because the food is so fantastic. They’re new that’s why. This place will be packed in no time. Sorry, no photos of the shrimp and grits. It got eaten before I even thought of leaving a review. I’ll let you know about the carrot cake that I’m taking home. Edit: carrot cake was fantastic too.
