The hospitality was superb!
Once seated, I asked Fernando about their Taco Tuesday deal. He told me it didn’t start until after 2 p.m., which is already strange for a Taco Tuesday special. I was disappointed, but since I was short on time and already there, I decided to order something anyway.
I explained very clearly that I do not eat chicken, pork, or beef, and only choose seafood or vegetarian options. I told him this upfront so he wouldn’t recommend anything with meat. He suggested a few items, and I ended up ordering a Jamaica drink ($4.49) and a bean-and-cheese burrito ($7.49). He asked if I wanted grilled veggies added inside, and I agreed.
The burrito he brought had beans, cheese, rice, veggies, sour cream, guacamole, and lettuce—which i was not sure what the bean and cheese burrito looked like or came with simce being a first timer so I ate it. Until I received the check.
My total came out to $21 a huge jump from the roughly $11.98 the menu prices added up to.
When I questioned this, Fernando suddenly claimed I had ordered a meat burrito called the Chimichunga, even though:
• I told him I don’t eat meat
• I told him it was my first time there and I was not familiar with the menu
• I asked specifically for a bean-and-cheese burrito
Instead of apologizing or trying to understand the situation, he doubled down and argued with me. He insisted I pay the full price for the Chimichunga, claiming he “substituted the protein” with grilled veggie —meaning he basically took a meat burrito, removed the meat, added veggies, and then charged me for the full meat-burrito price. By that logic, I was being charged extra for not eating meat.
I told him that would just make it a vegetarian burrito at max, which the menu lists at $10.99. I asked to be charged the correct price for the item I actually ordered. He refused. No apology, no correction, no accountability.
His only so-called “solution” was offering a 20% coupon for my next visit, which felt more like an insult than an attempt to make things right.
In the end, I paid the full $21 because I had to get back to work, but I left extremely dissatisfied, uncomfortable, and honestly shocked by the dishonesty. I’ve eaten at plenty of restaurants, and I’ve never had a server try to upcharge me by pretending I ordered something completely different—especially after I went out of my way to explain my dietary restrictions.
Between the misleading pricing, the refusal to correct an obvious mistake, and the argumentative customer service, I will never be returning here.
Avoid this place at all costs. Dishonest, unprofessional, and not worth your money.
We ordered the yummy Mazapan frapp, regular coffees, giant burritos, and parrillada, and all portions were big enough to share with two people. The Carne asada, chicken, chorizo, and shrimp were all very tasty and cooked well. The shrimp was my favorite, it was well seasoned, very tasty and nice, and plump!
They have a few salsas that they use for the burrito or enchiladas and for the chips, but none are spicy. So we asked for a spicy salsa, and this was actually creamy but still nice and spicy.
They have a couple of small tables for outdoor seating and are pet friendly.
They’re located inside a shopping center with many other businesses but there’s plenty of parking. There’s also a market and gas station all in the same place.
