Two pieces of tasteless bread with foil wrapped butter. Asked for olive oil. Received olive oil with no garlic no parm no nothing. Meatballs were tender but bland. Little flavor. Short ribs were NOT short ribs. They tried to pass off a thick cut roast beef for short ribs. Little flavor. Was more of a stew. Husbands chicken scarpiello was mediocre at best. All dinners coming out of kitchen looked like frozen tv dinners. Not sure what the hype is. Would not go back for free. Very much a diner rather than a restaurant. We wanted to love it.

This is a long established restaurant very popular with locals. We have been there a few times with very varied outcomes. On this visit the food was very pedestrian tasting. Nothing special about flavor or presentation. Service is very good. Whole place could use a good update, very 50’s vibe and look. Prices are fair. Bar area is very much for locals who all seem to know each other.

I went here with my coworkers. Everyone had something different. I had chicken parm and the portions were huge and the sauce tasted homemade and traditional. It was a little abnormally loud on the other side near the bar, which didn’t bother me, but it might not be for everyone if you’re looking for a quiet meal. I’m not sure if it’s normally like that if it was just that crowd. But definitely try it out.

Managed to make it out to BIR for a late lunch over the weekend after driving by this spot numerous times and always seeing the lot slammed….my tastey senses were tingling!
Ordered pretty quickly as our waiter was fairly attentive checking in on us throughout our meal. We put in for an app and our mains and chatted it up. I will say their soda machine is solid as they pump out sweeter than most drinks that dnt taste like dirty hoses.
The bruschetta was legit w/the bread they use and the flavors were on spot.
I ordered the chicken barsini which was very nice. You could taste the wine in the sauce and the balance was solid all around. Also tried my father’s pasta dish which was also very good.
The style of food is old world italian. Straightforward no frills no nonsense w/large portions you could live off of for a few days. You can see why they have been around as long as they have. If it was just for a few small deets this would be a 5 star review.
Worth a stop in for sure

Can get over how great of an experience we had. Gabriella our server was awesome. The food came out quick and so good. First time here and will definitely be back. Loved the French onion soup and the dessert!!

Had a decent meal here tonight. I will say it was odd to get a cardboard to go box for messy soupy pasta. They did say it was was and had nothing else to take leftover in im just not understand how it woulda worked if I had had soup? Either way decent place alcohol is not overpriced like everywhere else these days.

What a fantastic place to come enjoy a meal! They have been in business for decades, and their good reputation is well deserved. The restaurant is easy to find on Route 67, and there is lots of parking. There are two dining areas, and a large bar as well. Also outdoor seating too! Staff is very friendly, but the real star of the show is the food! High quality fresh ingredients, cooked perfectly. I had an order of clams casino, they were super tasty, and the shrimp cocktail included 5 huge shrimp that were so firm and good, each one was worth 2 bites! The French onion soup was stellar, loaded with tons of gooey cheese & onions. I had the chicken “Gypsy” style, which is sauteed with sausage, roasted potatoes, vinegar peppers, and a tangy wine sauce that was delicious! My friends had the homemade lobster ravioli, chicken Marsala, and homemade gnocchi with braised pork and a great tomato sauce. Everyone was pleased with the large portions and fair prices. Finished off the meal with some Sambuca, which came in a snifter with the traditional 3 coffee beans. We all had leftovers to take home, and had full bellies & satisfied smiles on our faces. I highly recommend coming here, and will return again soon!

We had a great time! They make their own pasta there! Pre fix menu selection was awesome! I’d go here again. Dinner for 2 was reasonably priced. $60 with tip and extra apps to try. More food than you can eat. Yummy left overs to bring home. They have a salad bar with homemade bread! I totally recommend that. Its included with the meals. Such a homey feeling when you walk in. Waitress was very friendly and on point with our needs. She brought fresh house made limoncello at the end. Such a treat! You’ve got to try this place if you’re in the area.

Had lunch with 3 others! Food was delicious! I ordered sausage broccoli rabe to go for my husband! Although it’s delicious but the portion was much smaller than what we had at the restaurant! Last time I ordered to go we had more broccoli and cavatelli for an entree!
