Great vibe, great experience and great staff.
We came up from BCA and it was definitely worth it. Worth stopping in if you are local or passing through town. The food was excellent, they use fresh and quality ingredients, cook to order so nothing is coming out of a bag. You may wait a few minutes longer, but the quality is worth the wait. If you want fresh this is your place.
Super cool vibe with the back courtyard and barn/entertainment venue. They have great entertainment on the weekends and some other stuff like karaoke and trivia.
Skip the chain restaurants and go local.

They were able to fool many but not me. The Cowboy sandwich wasn’t good. The bread tasted a lot like garlic and made my sandwich taste Italian and yucky. Unfortunately, our bone marrow wasn’t well made twice. It was raw, bloody and cold to the touch. The idea is there. The atmosphere was great and the plates sound awesome. They just don’t taste good unless you are used to a McDonald’s food.
Do expect to pay $17 for 2 oz of pork belly. The taste was great! Service was excellent!

They were out of bison when we stopped but got regular burgers instead. They were great and very Texas size. Very thankful to have something like this in Calvert. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic food & great service! Unfortunately they were out of a couple things we wanted to order, but that was understandable after a busy Memorial Day weekend. Would definitely like to try the bone marrow when we are in the area again. We ended up ordering the bison burger and the ribeye steak sandwich. They were both absolutely delicious and the fries were crispy and fresh! Portions were good and prices were reasonable. Our waitress was very friendly and personable and was able to answer any questions we had. They buy their meat locally to support small businesses so that is definitely a plus!

The food is amazing and the portions are huge! The bar in the back is a hidden gem. It feels like you’re walking into a speak easy. I brought my dog daisy may and the seated us in their beautiful patio and even brought my baby girl her own bowl. They even had games for my niece and nephew! What a perfect family experience!

Wow! I can’t believe this place doesn’t have more reviews! They undoubtedly have the best food within fifty miles of their location. From the perfectly cooked steaks and burgers, to the generous dinner salads and crispy fries, everything on the menu is delicious.

Another thing that sets Cowgirls Tavern apart is their wine. They offer a small selection of quality wines, and put argon in any bottles they open to sell by the glass to keep the wine fresh. It makes a HUGE difference.

Finally, the owners and staff are friendly, welcoming, and sincerely at your service to ensure you have a great time and an unforgettable meal. I can honestly say that I had one of the best filet mignons I’ve ever had here, and that’s compared to even the most expensive steakhouses in Houston, Dallas, and New York. Carla the manager treated us like family and provided genuine and attentive service.

If you find yourself driving through Calvert, do yourself a favor and STOP at Cowgirls Tavern for a burger and beer or glass of the Raymond Cabernet. You won’t regret it.

This place is a hidden gem.

Their hand battered onion rings and fried pickles are amazing and are served with their delicious homemade ranch. When you come in at dinner, you get complimentary homemade pimento cheese and pita crackers. The steak fingers are hand battered and tender! The sliders are seasoned just right with their buttery garlic buns. The beverage menu is sure to quench your pallet!

The atmosphere is relaxing and in the back… there is music… sometimes karaoke… and sometimes a live band.

Attached to the front is a cute clothing boutique or play a game ff pool or even play the old arcade came in the corner.

Check this place out!!!

Blend a clean Texas music venue that is well lit, staffed by a staff that is a joy to be around. Wide screen TVs for football, and the best menu of any restaurant within 100 miles. Add in owners that care about their customers and serve the coldest beer in the county. Winner of the local newspapers Best of the Best, this is a top tier place in a quiet little town. Simply a perfect visit, music, and food.
