We are so surprised Food is delicious even my friend is the chef and we like to search good food to eat. We all think it’s the best dim sum place in Tampa area. Food served hot and not just microwave warm. But We wish there is more variety of dishes . We will be back and really recommend to everyone.

Dim Sum King is a spot that keeps things simple, but the food always hits the spot! Conveniently located in the mall area, it’s super easy to pop in whether you’re shopping nearby or just feeling a craving for some delicious dumplings. The all day dim sum menu offers a good variety, think steamed ribs, pan-fried dumplings, shrimp balls, and more, all fresh and with lots of flavor. Their lunch specials are a good deal and make it a perfect choice for a relaxed, casual meal. It’s not a fancy place, but it’s definitely a dependable favorite for tasty dim sum and comforting Chinese dishes in Sarasota.

Wow oh wow!!! Definitely get the chefs special homemade noodles! They are thickkkk and delicious! Also enjoyed a TsingTao beer. The seafood curry fried rice was incredible as well. The soft as your favorite pillow pork buns were out of this world. Also tried the shrimp dumplings steamed which were well prepared! Thanks for such a great experience for me with my first dim sum

My wife and I really like dim sum. Dim Sum King in Bradenton is our “go to” restaurant as it’s menu has an array of items that are dependable to satisfy a wide dining audience. One dish we always order is broccoli rabe with oyster sause. The shumi is great as is their pot stickers. We treat the menu as we would tapas; a little of this and a little of that. You can always find something good tasting. They also have a selection of alcoholic beverages for those who imbibe. They have more conventional oriental menu items, so any diner should find something to their liking. Price for lunch for two without drinks is in line with most fast casual restaurants in Bradenton.

We stepped a bit out of our usual food-travel zone and ventured down to Dim Sum King in the Bradenton/Sarasota to eat with family friends at their recommendation. With that being said, the hour-and-ten minute drive from Lutz was well worth the effort to eat the Dim Sum King (plus we made a day out of it).

For starters, Dim Sum King excelled in all the categories of variety, quality, and freshness.

Dim Sum King’s dim sum is ordered from the menu – you mark the number of the respective dim sum plate that you wish to order on a dry-erase menu placard and receive the food as they are made.

While different than the push-cart ordering which gives you more of an eyes-on confirmation of the actual dishes and a nostalgic-traditional dim-sum brunch vibe, the menu ordering offers a different approach. Ordering from the menu potentially means that each plate is cooked right and not sitting in the steaming cart which may result in overcooked food or sogginess. So the food does come out fresh here!

When it comes to variety, Dim Sum King has most of the usual suspects – har gow, shui mai, chicken feet, short ribs, tripe, lo bak go (turnip cake), shrimp/beef/veggie cheung fun (rice noodle rolls), and sticky rice. Additionally, they carry other fanciful dim sum dishes such as zhaliang (fried Chinese donut rice noodle roll), crispy shrimp toast and stuffed eggplant. Simple and great dim sum menu!

The quality is arguably the best I’ve had in a while. Each dish was made and cooked to perfection. Specific call outs to the crispy shrimp toast and beef cheung fun – these were amazing in both flavor and textures.

Our friends told us that the place usually has a line. Perhaps it was right after the holidays, but they were seated promptly around 12pm when they arrived. The restaurant has two large round banquet tables that seat approximately 10, with smaller set-ups of booths and table between.

Definitely one of the best dim sum spots in this region of Florida!

The food was tasty, with a variety of dishes that pleased my palate. From savory dumplings to flavorful stir-fries, the menu offered a wide range of options that catered to different tastes.

The service was attentive and friendly. The staff was quick to take our orders and accommodate special requests. It was evident that they aimed to make our dining experience enjoyable.

The ambiance was pleasant, creating a relaxed atmosphere for our meal. However, I’m withholding the fifth star as I believe there’s room for improvement in the restaurant’s decor and overall atmosphere to make it even more inviting.

Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for its delicious cuisine and friendly service. It’s a great spot for those looking to savor some authentic Chinese flavors.

Clean, delicious dim sum! Better than the location by Lakewood ranch!! Try their rice rolls for lunch or homemade rice noodles with XO sauce for dinner. Or stop in for some tea & Portuguese custards! The pork buns are very sweet. This takes me back to New York City chinatown (of course nothing compares but this comes close). Not your typical junky Chinese food establishment – this place is different- no wonder they are packed!

Delicious!!! So many fun dim sum items from which to choose. Each order is around $6 and comes with three pieces. We had the steamed shrimp and pork dumplings (sooo good), shrimp stuffed jalapeños (super spicy AND delicious), baked bbq buns (donut dough meets bbq – astounding), fried shrimp balls (not my favorite but others loved it – too dense for me), and regular pan fried pork dumplings. Creme brulée dim sum tarts for dinner was a perfect ending. I hate pie crust, but this was light and fluffy with a not-too-sweet filling. They really know what their doing! Don’t miss the Chow Fun made with homemade noodles they make daily. Also very reasonably priced beer, wine, and sake. We went at 6 on a Wednesday. Small restaurant already filling up, but we got a table.

Lived in Hawaii where dim sum is at every corner in Chinatown. Excited to have found a place that’s as good and definitely authentic.

Our favorites:
Shanghai style dumplings – these are pork with the juices inside. It’s very hot but I recommend eating the whole thing so you can get all of the juices from the meat. Delicately seasoned and delicious.

Pork siu mai – can’t go wrong.

Pork buns – sweet and savory with a crispy outside. Outstandingly delicious.

Egg tart – perfectly flaky crust and moist custardy center.

Some dim sum items are only available at lunch.

Price is reasonable for the serving size since it’s dim sum. Definitely coming back for more.
