I ordered Singapore Mei Fun and it was lacking in flavor, ingredients and quality. They had barely any meat or vegetables in it and what was there was diced up in the smallest cubes and had barely any curry. It was mostly noodles which was the wrong kind. I ended up putting it in my wok to reseason it, throwing half of the noodles away to match the meat/veggie ratio.
I also ordered wonton soup. The broth was decent but the wontons were thick and barely filled with any meat.
I don’t know what I walked into, but this restaurant needs to be investigated—immediately. I ordered Chinese donuts thinking I was about to treat myself to something golden, warm, and fluffy. Instead, I got a box of deep-fried disappointment sprinkled with regret.
These donuts looked like hush puppies that lost their way and stumbled into a bag of dollar-store powdered sugar. The sugar wasn’t even trying—it just kinda dusted the middle like it got tired halfway through. Half of them looked like they’d been sat on, the other half looked puffed with false confidence. Not a single one was the same size, like they were fighting for individuality in a fryer.
They were shaped like couch cushions that had been through a breakup—lumpy, dry, and emotionally unstable. One bite in and I started questioning my life choices. I swear they tasted like the fryer oil had trauma. Chewy in a way that made me wonder if I was being punished for something.
The whole place had the vibe of “we tried.” The food was bland, the service was nonchalant, and the only thing seasoned was my growing regret. The donuts didn’t melt in your mouth—they argued with your teeth. I came for comfort food and left with trust issues.
Save yourself the trip. If you’re craving Chinese donuts, go somewhere that knows the difference between dessert and edible chaos.
I rarely eat Chinese food…I prefer upscale Thai restaurants. A colleague bought me a Veggie egg roll…it was full of nothing but cabbage but it was quite Tasty…I went back the following day and I should have known just from the outside that I shouldn’t be there… I purchased fries and a Veggie egg roll…and 12 hours later ( in the voice of SpongeBob)
I literally slept on the toilet.
Whenever I eat out and have stomach issues…it is my sign that the place is not clean.
The whole place just looks like it needs to be scrubbed in Clorox.
Never again, is all I can say.
I will stick to my well-maintained and clean Thai restaurants.
