This place is amazing, totally worth coming here. The sushi chef was amazing, he helped me and my wife with our order and even brought it to us. He was just full of positive energy and happiness. Even made me and my wife laugh a lot, we left the restaurant full and happy. Would definitely come back because of him.

If you want real sushi, you should come here! I use to be a sushi chef and this is the real deal.

This is hands down one of my favorite sushi restaurants but I can’t give it the 5 stars I want to give it because of certain caveats. Here’s the down low on the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Let’s start with the good. The sushi is expertly and exceptionally prepared. It is not only fresh, and beautifully plated but it comes with an array of crafted sauces that are divine! I’ve eaten at A LOT of sushi restaurants, high end and not so high end, since sushi is my all time favorite food and I have yet to find a spot that makes sushi better than Ume (which used to be Rusans back in the day and still serves several of Rusans original dishes like the Big Eye, Ocean’s 11 and Spicy Chicken Yaki udon.. all delicious by the way). Not only is the sushi the best you’ll ever eat, but they are not chintzy on portion sizes either. I would highly recommend the Cherry Blossom, Tuna Dumplings, and the Lobster King crab roll. Into spicy? Then the AK47 is where it’s at! Now for the bad. The entire 4 stars is for the food alone. It probably should be 3 stars but the food is just that good. The ambiance, however, is not so great. The restaurant needs to upgrade the seating, the decor, and the restrooms desperately. A couple of years ago they were working towards this goal but they seem to be struggling to get back on track after the pandemic. To make matters much much worse, they seem to be really struggling with finding enough staff to service the dining room adequately. It appears that many customers go with the takeout option as my husband and I are often one of just a handful of customers in the dining room lately, if not the only customers… and this restaurant used to be packed a few years ago. The Ugly is how bad the staffing situation has gotten …while I am a huge fan of kids and I think it is important that they learn a strong work ethic, I don’t really want to be served by them when I go out for a meal. While this only happened once, if it had been my first time eating here, I might not have come back. Dining out is as much about the experience as it is the food. I hope they are able to find more staff soon and can get back on track again towards being a phenomenal restaurant!

My girlfriend and I have been coming here forever, as regulars they always recognize and greet us. The food is worth the money, they give great portions to price, the salmon is of good quality and melts in your mouth, the tuna is fresh, and all of there fried rolls are amazing. The chef, Danny, comes up and shows his appreciation to us, his customers. Overall great place, great food, and great atmosphere.

Ordered lunch specials: any two premium rolls for $10.50 and sushi lunch for $12.95, which came with either soup or salad. We choose soup (miso). The quality wasn’t that bad but quantity was. So, don’t visit this place when you are very hungry.

This was my first time here since ownership changed. I like the new layout, not much has changed but the difference is noticable. There are a few new options to the lunch buffet. I really enjoyed the new sushi choices. The sauce was a welcomed explosion of flavor. I will be back.

Danny and his little minion Anthony are amazing people – very attentive and courteous. Excellent sushi (sweet potato sushi is the best), veggie hibachi and vegetarian Ramen. Will be back!

Decent place.. decent food. Outdoor seating option available. They have Hibachi but they do not cook in-front of you. The servers are very polite.

First time visiting. New to the area. I’m just going to assume they are extremely busy at different hours. I had Udon and sushi and loved it. Definitely a good place to hit up!

Sorry to read about unsatisfied diners.

In my case everything was great. I walked in after 3pm May 5, 2022. I was the only one in the dining area. The Chef came from back of the kitchen to greet me, very nice very accommodating.

I talked to him about a dish that I love Chirashi Don (on their menu its written with an S, Shirashi Don). Showed him a picture of a dish I had at Kampai Sushi & Steak in Stonecrest, GA. He immediately asked..’where is the garnish’ I stepped back lifted my arms up to express my disappointment in agreement to his question. And told him that dish was horrible!

He said he will do his best to make me his version Chirashi Don.

I was blown away with what he brought me…see photo below. Best presentation I have ever seen for this dish. It was Great!!
The point of art and simplicity is what compliments this dish.

Sushi Lovers if you like Traditional Chirashi Don dishes I recommend UME Sushi.

However when I go back and I will….I will ask the chef to use a bowl with rice instead of a bowl with ice and the rice on the side.

Other than that I’ve finally found a place close to home.

Oooh! ….did I forget…I was so delighted I give this presentation and taste 16 STARS from a scale of 0 to10 a 0 to 16!!!

Thank you Chef…
