When I saw tamago on the menu, I had to try this place. It was perfectly sweet and fluffy! So after out little appetizer I had to order my personal favorites ika (squid) and the Kick in the Nose roll (perfect for anyone who likes that “wasabi burn”). My husband ordered the karaage (Japanese friend chicken) which was quite a large entree, definitely worth the price. The chicken was perfect, not oily at all and juicy.
I highly recommend coming here after a bath at the onsen.

I’m not sure what the bad reviews were about. Every person in the front of the restaurant talked to us at one point or another during our evening there. They were friendly and timely. The food portions were huge and the food was delicious. The ambience is by no means Japanese in style, but the seating was comfortable. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting some Japanese food. It was very similar to food which we ate in Japan, though a little more salty. Heads up.-Japanese food is not spicy. If that’s what you’re looking for go to a Thai or a Vietnamese restaurant.

It’s a great little shop that’s a bit bigger than it looks from the outside. The food is excellent and varies in price, which is excellent. The portions are nice as well. The atmosphere is welcoming and great just to hang out while eating.
I usually come for the rolls and the appetizers. My daughter loves more the soups and noodles.
I recommend this restaurant to those looking for a nice variety of eats.

Food is always remarkable and fairly priced. I have become a new frequent of the restaurant and I’m never disappointed. I always leave full and happy! On my recent visit I had the Santa Fe Roll and the Lady Bug Roll. Both are phenomenal! I always also get Miso Soup, White Rice, and the Green Chile Tempura which never disappoint. One small critique is the inconsistency of the service provided. Some days it’s very attentive and professional, others it’s more laid back and spacey. Aside from that the food always delivers.

This place was busy with great energy when we visited for the first time. A jazz trio was setting up to play. Jazz, in a Japanese restaurant? They ended up being a great addition to the evening and created a very relaxed and fun atmosphere. Music was just the right volume where you could still have a conversation.
The food was better than we expected, after reading some of the reviews here. We ordered several different appetizers and all of them were good. The only one I was not a fan of was the shrimp shumai which I think might have been frozen. Our favorites for the night were the spicy tuna salad, and tai carpaccio dish. We didn’t have any rolls, but the ones we saw being served from the bar looked amazing.
We will definitely return when we’re in Santa Fe again and try their rolls.

Alicia my waitress was so nice and welcoming. The sushi was delicious, I got the playboy, and got the fried noodles Yaki Udon with shrimp and the noodles were most likely made on site, best noodles ever, the shrimp was fried and breded. I never get dessert but since everything was so good I decided to try the fried bananas, It tasted like a fried breading with banana pudding was drizzled in chocolate I would definitely order again, the strawberry Mochi was my first time trying that wasn’t store bought, I will never want store bought mochi again lol. There are many places to eat in Santa Fe but I highly recommend this place is a hidden gem! Next time I’m in town I am stopping again

Good sushi here. The spicy tuna roll and the Santa Fe roll were my favorites. I tried a real crab California roll but didn’t care for it as much as the conventional type. The dragon roll was good aIso. I do not recommend the tempura banana. I wish I could have eaten more so I will definitely go back. This review was during covid. I chose this restaurant because they had a patio. Also they were open for lunch which others were not. The back patio was saved by a nice water feature. Otherwise it is a severely ugly place in desperate need of a makeover. But covid makes us work with what’s available. Focus on the trickling water sounds and you’ll be fine. I liked my server, other staff were nice too.My companion enjoyed all of her food. Definitely try the Santa Fe roll.

UPDATE 11/15/2020. During this difficult times I decided to order take out from this place. first, They added 12% automatic gratuity + 3% pick up fee. the rude part is that the waitress didn’t let me know about it. so, Surprise! when you can check the receipt.
Second, she forgot the edamame. she noticed and didn’t call me back right away so I can go pick it up. I had to call her when I noticed it but I was already home. I called and asked her if she can refund me for the edamame. she said it is hard for her to do refunds. so, I asked to speak with the manager. the manager/ owner was not available. I left my phone number hopefully the manager calls me back. I will update this review when I know the outcome.
This place has a great location between the rail yard and downtown. I loved the garden with the water feature. The water noise is so soothing. We ordered a few dishes, the rainbow boat, tempura shrimp and a side of kimchi. As dessert we had an ice cream tempura. Prices were reasonable nothing crazy in Santa Fe. Parking sucks for any reason that Guadalupe st $2 per hour that’s insane! If you park on West alameda which is next to the river is $ 1 per hour is just about 3 minutes walk and it is easier to find parking there.

Great atmosphere and staff is great. They did have us wait while to take our order but the food was amazing and definitely well worth it. We order the chicken Katsu bento that comes miso soup and salad. Also, spicy tempura roll, the heart attack( jalapeño, cream cheese and spicy tuna) and the pork gyoza. If you are visiting Santa Fe or a local and have been looking for a great sushi place look no further! The prices are fair for the big portions.

In terms of atmosphere, the sushi bar was giving Dave the Diver early game vibes. We had the udon in the metal bowl and the cold soba. Both were ridiculously flavorful, and the noodles had good texture. They both came with tempura, which had just the right amount of crunch; it was juicy on the inside, crunchy on the outside – just right. The staff were nice, and even gave us a discount for the food taking a little while. We didn’t even notice until they mentioned it, so it shows they were paying attention, which is a sign of good service imo. Plus the discount we didn’t ask for, to me, shows good management. We went early, so it wasn’t very busy yet. If you go during a busy time, then your experience might differ. 10/10 (BTW, it’s downtown, so be prepared to find parking)
