I am always open a new experiences of places to eat and my friend drove me to Sanger and treated me to lunch or brunch. The food was great and it wasn’t real busy so we got served right away. When I went to go to the bathroom it was horribly nasty. Not the kind of nasty that the customer comes in and just screws it up but the nasty when people don’t scrub their bathrooms. The waiters and waitresses were out in the front talking and they probably could have used that to clean up the place. After I looked at the bathroom I started looking around at the rest of the place and it wasn’t just the bathroom that wasn’t clean it was the general area. I think that the place could improve from a two-star to a five-star with just sprucing up the place as far as cleaning. Maybe the owners don’t like to delegate somebody to clean I don’t know, but it needed it and that should be part of running a restaurant. So saying that to say this even though the food was good, when it’s not clean I wouldn’t come back unless I knew that someone had done something about the the hygiene. Sorry guys

The combo fajitas plate is wonderful. Great food at a great price. A family of four ate a full dinner for under $40. The service was great and the servers were helpful. The parking lot is in the rear of the building. I can’t wait to try their breakfast menu. We will visit again every time we’re in Sanger.

There was serveral families waiting out side for there “sanatation time” to be over we waited 15 min after the time that was posted then a worker comes out to write a separate time. you can see in the picture where they came out to write a different time. ♀️

Strong points first. Good food with a decent selection, and it comes out fairly fast, if it’s not too busy. If it’s busy, expect a wait for both a seat and your food. Also, there doesn’t seem to be any effort to train staff on customer service. There is little to no effort to give that extra effort. If your food isn’t prepared to your liking, the cooks won’t care because “That’s the way THEY do it.” Also, once you get your food, don’t expect to see the server again or to get checked on. Don’t go on a Sunday for lunch. It’ll be a long wait, and the service will be terrible. For the best experience, go during the week during off hours.

I thought it was going to be great. Seated right away. Was asked for my drink and received it quickly. Waitress took my order in great time got chips and salsa right away. Food was good but nothing extraordinary and was not once checked on again. Even put my drink close to the edge of the table when it got low to no affect.

I’ve been eating here for almost 2 decades and throughout the years I’ve only been met by great service only surpassed by even greater food. I love this place and even after being all around the world from my sea service, Velascos is still my most favorite place to grab a bite with my wife and kids. Keep up the great work!

I love this place. I grew up just right outside of Sanger in East Calwa. And then moved to Sanger eventually. And I would go here all the time after church. And it has always been good in the past. I haven’t ate here in years. But it’s good! Purely authentic really Mexican food. Not the fake kind.

First time at this restaurant. I was very happy with the service, the time in which I was seated. Right away the chips and salsa came to the table. Our order taken and dinner plates came out in a short time. The food was very good. I will Definately return here again. I am a cook myself and usually disappointed in the taste of restaurant food. But not this time. Prices Are very reasonable.

So Velasco’s is very popular in our little town of Sanger Ca. It’s got allot of faithful patrons that frequent it. It is very popular with the after church crowd on Sundays. Been around for quite some time and is a locally owned business.
So here is my humble scoop. It is relatively clean and kept up. The building itself is old, been around for more than 20 years and it shows. It is a little on the dark side as far as the lighting and feel of the place.
The waitresses vary on friendliness depending on thier moods i guess. I can honestly say that i have never left, saying that they made my day with a smile or laughter.
That aside, the food is good. Real mexican taste to it but kind of standard like the same as many other places. So it’s not for me a place that says ooh la la.
But in all fairness i have come back several times. I’ve been good with it. So would i recommend it…..yes. But not highly recommend it.
