My husband and I arrived during a busy lunch rush. The servers / staff members were generous to everyone that visited and assisted them as swiftly as possible. We were helped right away and the staff was up to date on if anything was unavailable for the day or if it was going to take slightly longer because a new batch had to be made from scratch. I ordered the half chicken salad croissant with broccoli salad and chips. The broccoli salad was made FRESH and my taste buds were living in a fantasy world! Who knew broccoli salad could taste so incredible?! The sandwich was delicious as well, but I couldn’t stop eating the broccoli salad. On the menu, they have an option for a half sandwich for smaller appetites. It turned out to be the perfect amount for me. The staff members checked in on us several times to make sure everything was tasting well, if there was anything else we needed, and any updates on the length of time it took for our food. Which, it was about a standard amount of time from the time we ordered to the time our food arrived in front of us. The bakery and bistro is surrounded by little unique shops.

Such a cute spot and enjoyable experience! My mom and I stopped in for lunch and everything was wonderful! The grilled spinach and sundried tomato sandwich was incredible and they had a variety of tea/dessert options. This is a great spot to stop in, take a load off, and enjoy some fresh dishes!

A great local option.I office in the building where they are located. A nice diverse menu. The quality of the food is consistently excellent. Staff is friendly and attentive. Bakery items on display are well worth the visit. If you need a catering service they provide that as well.Check out the late night promotions on Friday with off the menu special gourmet meals. A great local dining option.

The Monte Cristo sandwich and chicken and dumplings was amazing! My wife had the Berries and Bacon sandwich with chicken and dumplings. She loved it. They bring what they call bread out to but it’s more like a moist slice of cake . So good. The owner and servers are very nice and accommodating. I picked up a cinnamon roll yesterday and it was one of the best I’ve had. I highly recommend this hidden gem!!

I enjoy going here! The people who serve you are so kind and the food is yummy! I have enjoyed everything I have ever gotten there. I am allergic to something in the broccoli salad but my friend will tell you it is scrumptious!

We held an event here over the weekend and I couldn’t be more impressed with this establishment. The food was on another level, the staff were beyond accommodating and super helpful, and the venue was inviting and easy to convert for our needs. We’ve done many events and this was by far the easiest to work in and with. I look forward to hosting future events here! Great for events like ours, parties, weddings and receptions or even just a family gathering! They are also open for eating in and or catering. I can’t wait to go back and have the best Monte Cristo Sandwich I’ve ever had!!!

Southern Joy Bakery & Bistro is the perfect name for this quaint, friendly restaurant in Cleburne Texas. SJ is a wonderful place to meet friends and enjoy lunch! The Coconut Pecan Loaf was a surprise treat at the beginning of the meal followed by the scrumptious soup, salad and half sandwich lunch combo!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and unfortunately, I was disappointed. Staff is super friendly. Inside is cute but aside from the cute bicycle, it is a bit plain. I got a salad, sandwich and 2 cupcakes for $35. High! Spinach and strawberry salad was good but the dressing wasn’t very flavorful aside from some tartness. The sandwich was turkey on sourdough with a spicy peach jam. Sourdough was soggy. You could barely taste the peach from the jam and no spice at all. The cupcakes are a decent size for $4. I got the strawberry. It wasn’t very moist and not very flavorful either. They were wrapping up the pastries so I assume they are not baked daily. I’ll try this place once more – maybe it was a bad day.
