Absolutely amazing Japanese restaurant! The sushi was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented, and the udon noodles were rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We also tried the soup, which was comforting and delicious. Everything tasted authentic and high quality. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves real Japanese food! I’ll be back

I enjoyed the hibachi dining experience overall. The food, while okay, didn’t stand out in terms of taste. The quantity of the dishes was satisfying, and the hibachi performance was entertaining. The service was prompt and attentive. However, I found the prices a bit high for the overall experience. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere, enhancing the dining ambiance.

My family and I have been customers here for years, it’s always been our go to hibachi place. Over time we’ve noticed the quality of the food increasingly decline. Last night was the worst experience we have had here. The steak and salmon were completely overcooked and had no seasoning. The rice was hard and had no flavor. My dad ordered an Arnold Palmer (as he always does) with unsweetened ice tea and lemonade and the waiter brought him out an unsweetened ice tea and a glass of pink lemonade, then never came back. The chef was nice but more focused on making nose and jokes than properly preparing the food. Also the “ginger sauce” was dark brown and tasted like vinegar, which means that it was expired. My stomach has not felt right since we left. Sadly we will not return here

I enjoyed a great hibachi combo in the dining room and my wife really enjoyed the sashimi. This is a great little byob in Voorhees. They also have really great lunch specials.

Came here for my daughter’s birthday and it was a fun experience. We had never been to a Hibachi restaurant. The Hibachi chef was entertaining and interactive. Now let’s get to the food the Hibachi comes with miso soup, salad, rice, veggies , 2 shrimp and what other protein you choose. The food was good but everything on the grill had the same flavor note. Steak was cooked to the proper temp which is always a plus. Salad has a flavorful ginger dressing. Along with Hibachi you can order off the menu as well. Sushi was fresh and delish but my Kani salad was a bit dry. The food comes out fast so you are not waiting long. They do make the birthday person feel special with a song and sparkler. If you want to sit and chat with your group, I’d recommend coming later in the day because they get you in and out within an hour. I will come back and try the non Hibachi side on the restaurant.

Upscale dining in casual atmosphere with the freshest sushi around. Chefs are amazing and service really good. Hot hibachi or sushi, in the neighborhood! BYOB keeps the price more affordable and selection up to you!

My wife and I stopped in as 1st time diners on a date night after having seen a movie at the AMC Voorhees.
We chose Akira because of the existing Google reviews. The restaurant did not disappoint!
Quality of the food was beyond excellent and the service was superb. The menu is varied, with many options at different price points. If you love sushi, as my wife does, this is definitely the place to stop for lunch or dinner. I opted for an item under “kitchen entrees” which was a delicious combination of flavors.
As we ate, the restaurant was doing a significant take out business so it’s quite popular.
We sat at a standard booth but there is another side of the restaurant with hibachi tables. There is also a sushi bar where you can watch the sushi artists create.

Few years ago my son was passing through the area and had lunch there. From then own, he was always raving about it, prompting me to take a 1.5 hour trip to Akira over the weekend. The food was good. I had “mango dinner”, which was not the greatest choice I could have made though. Chicken fried rice was lovely. y family had taken 3 types of sushi and one of then was really great. I hope they would consider changing the huge plates which barely leave any space on the tables. I would have taken dessert had the server asked me, but she was ready with the bill.
