My friend informed me of this place and was excited to let me experience all the great food… It must’ve been awhile since the last time he ate there because I was disappointed. Soul Food is supposed to have flavor this was was soul less definitely not made with any love. I got a smothered pork chop with rice and gravy, Mac& cheese, yams, and cabbage. The pork chop with rice and gravy and the yams was the only thing I ate.The Mac was dry and bland and the cabbage tasted like they only used salt to cook then once it’s plated they garnish with salt just gross as hell. I will never try again I’m cool on high blood pressure.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile. Big disappointment. The owner was unenthusiastic and the food wasn’t good, just like many people said in their complaints. I had the honey glazed wings with yams and cabbage. My bf had smothered pork chop, Mac and dressing. The wings were nice sized but the glaze was runny. The cabbage was bland no seasoning or flavor. The chop was good. The Mac tasted like it was just baked with cream cheese and shredded cheese on top. I wasn’t impressed at all.

Y’all this food was so good I wanted to slap somebody! lol Just kidding. No slapping, but the food was amazing! The Owners were so nice and professional! The food was season and cook to perfection! Bring your whole family! One plate is like 3 meals! I will go back again and highly recommend!

We tried Larry and Laney’s for lunch after driving by it many times. Overall, I think it was fine, nothing stood out as above and beyond. I had 6 hot wings with greens and cabbage. The greens were warmer than the wings. Also, they lacked a kick. My favorite part of the dish was the cabbage. The owner was pleasant.

Ordered a breakfast burrito through the drive thru. Very hearty and lasted me two meals, customizable and delicious. It was hard selecting as everything sounded good. Looking forward to trying other options on the menu.

I’m glad I didn’t read a review cause I’m not sure how they are only 4 stars.

Best turkey leg I’ve had in a while, and it was the last one, I would love to know what a fresh one is like.

In the pics, you’ll see it was very little left that wasn’t edible, even with it being the last one.

I’m impressed, I’ve driven long and far in search of a good turkey leg, including the Gar-bauge (expensive trash) Turkey Leg Hut , and this was way better.

The greens were on point, just the right amount of spice, not salty but flavorful, and the dressing was so-so (it needs something).

Overall, I will be returning and would recommend it.

Almost forgot, the customer service was top-notch

I was hungry decided to eat here to support a black business. The meatballs in the sauce was a good sample. so I thought my food would be good. The greens had no season at all. It tasted like someone had dumped them from a can and put jalapeños inside and served them. No salt no pepper just bland! The dressing had a really bad taste. Like it was to much sage, the Mac n cheese tasted awful from texture to taste just bland. I was really disappointed because I was hungry and I thought by looks that the food was going to be good. It looked really good in the plate but tasted extremely bland no exaggeration. Nice man but the food was horrible coming from a Memphis soul food eater. I wouldn’t return and feel the truth has to be told to warn others.

I’m finding it hard to believe that I got my food from the same place as the ppl in the reviews. The mac and cheese seems to consist of butter, noodles, and cheese. Definitely nothing baked about it (which is what makes it soul food) no milk, eggs, rue, or seasoning. The meat selection is very little. I asked about the meatballs and was told they’re made of chicken and beef. After one bite I’m not too sure of that. They seem like you buy them out of the freezer section at the grocery store. Green beans are most likely out of the can which is not a big deal if you season them. I didn’t get the collards because I was certain they would be out of the can as well and that’s a big NO in my book. Oh, and cornbread was not good as well as the stuffing/dressing. The dressing was like mashed potatoes, but soggy. Not what I’d consider soul food. $12.00 later and I’m still hungry.

I’m looking for some good oxtails and this was not the place. Food bar was part empty and the food had no seasoning. And to top it off my food was put into the smallest container and was drinched in watery gravy that spilled all through the bag on top of two small oxtails on top of rice for 32$. Greens had no taste either. I was very disappointed

On my way to work, I saw this spot sitting in the cut. I figured on my way home that I’d try it out. I stopped in for a bite. Inside the lobby where you order is really small and kind of confusing, but I figured it out at some point where to stand to start my order.

When it was finally my time to order, some of the items were not available. The owner did offer to cook them if I was willing to wait, which was a nice gesture.

I ended up trying their cat fish basket with a double side of greens. They also had meat loaf, which is my favorite food. I bought the last two on the line.

The cat fish was good. It cooked to order so it was hot and fresh. I enjoyed it, but nothing to get excited about. The meat loaf was good as well, surprisingly since I generally don’t like my meat loaf sweet. I actually enjoyed theirs.

There are more items on their menu I’d love to try. Unfortunately, until then, the score is based on my first experience which was just ok.

I would be back to try their deserts and other food items on the menu and then update my review.
