Life Alive or cava are way better IMO, but to be fair this was the only thing I tried.
It would have been nice if there was more food too it, as well as more flavor like mixed greens instead of just plain spinach.
This space is accessible for people with mobility (dis)abilities!
There is a functional accessible door opener to the right of the front doors and a small, but easily negotiable lip to enter.
The counter has a lowered section, although the cashier is standing.
The drinks in the fridge and gift shop items on higher shelves may require assistance to reach for anyone in a wheelchair.
There are plenty of tables with removable chairs, and aisles are wide enough to maneuver.
Both single-stall restrooms are gender neutral, spacious, and have grab bars and a roll under sink. One is also labeled as having a changing table. The bathroom doors are a moderate weight with a lever handle and there is no accessible door opener to open these.
Growth areas could be having large print, audio, and/or braille menus as well as a detailed allergen menu.

The food was delicious and perfect portions, though quite expensive. The falafel was perfectly made which I find rare. Not dry at all!
The avocado cilantro sauce was just okay—kind of heavy and lacking brightness. I think the bowl could really benefit from a fresh, zesty element like a lime or lemon-based dressing to balance the richness of the thicker sauces.
The pickled carrots were a nice touch, and the jalapeños added a great kick. While it’s not a standout salad, it holds its own—I’d rate it a 7/10. With a few thoughtful tweaks in flavor and texture, it could be taken to the next level.
Wait time was also fair not too quick but I understand it was a tad busy! It took around 15 minutes to get my salad but I didn’t mind waiting.
On my second visit, I had breakfast. I had the Epic Egg Sandwich with a cup of coffee and a Maple Cordycep Doughnut. Everything was good ! The doughnut was made from ground mushrooms and didn’t crumble. The coffee was smooth. The Epic tasted good but came apart. I don’t know if the bread needs to be toasted a little more but I was given a fork ahead of time.
Prices are high but the food is fresh. And it is Portsmouth during higher inflation.
The WI-FI I couldn’t access.
This cafe has more elbow room, huge windows you can sit at and a larger outdoor seating area.
As I look out the window, I remember this area being run down. Now, it looks so much better!
I am recommending Laney & Lu. I hope they do well.
