The steak was delicious. The sauce is truly unique with a rich, deep flavor. I personally enjoyed the sirloin more than the fillet.
However, the house salad was very disappointing and didn’t meet expectations.
Finally, the service was good; the staff were helpful, and the place has a nice, cozy atmosphere.
The service was surprisingly mediocre. For a restaurant with so many staff on the floor, there was very little actual service. Where do I begin?
I don’t mind opening our large sparkling water bottle myself, but doing so while seated, and then having to pour for everyone felt awkward. Several waiters saw me refilling our glasses multiple times, yet no one stepped in. There was a clear lack of attentiveness and finesse.
Details were consistently overlooked. We had to ask for everything ourselves:
– An ashtray just to dispose of used napkins (which were piling up)
– Small plates for sharing our appetizer and steaks.
– Clearing extra empty glasses from the table, which was becoming cluttered
It’s not the end of the world, but these small things add up, especially in a place that seems to want to present itself as polished.
The atmosphere didn’t help either. The restaurant was well occupied, but there was no music, so every conversation from nearby tables and even behind the counter was clearly audible. It’s a small space, and without ambient sound, it feels… off.
What really stood out to me, though, was the lack of engagement from the staff. It almost feels like the team isn’t empowered or encouraged to be proactive. I can imagine that working at a high-end restaurant in Dabouq might be intimidating, but that’s even more reason to build your team’s confidence. They’re a sharp-looking crew, and seemed nice, just give them the tools and encouragement to shine.
Now, on to the food:
– No wine on the menu, but I won’t whine.
– The complimentary appetizer was underwhelming: oily mystery chips with a fresh tomato salsa (needs seasoning).
– No actual appetizers or sides to choose from, which is surprising, even for a steak-focused place. I see you’re going for that L’Entrecôte-style Parisian bistro vibe, but without the buzz, charm, or sharp execution, it doesn’t really land.
The steak? It was okay. Cooked fine, but oddly presented. Both the steak and the chicken came smothered in the same sauce, to the point where you couldn’t even see the meat. Why not place the sliced steak over the sauce and offer more on the side? It looked unappetizing, though it tasted decent.
I asked for a pepper mill, and they obliged, but again, with so many staff around, it would be nice if they came around to offer fresh pepper themselves. Especially with a large pepper mill like that, it should be used tableside.
The fries were good. We ordered two main dishes that came with fries, and I asked if there were other potato options, but there weren’t.
The Caesar salad was passable: mayo-based dressing and a few small slices of chicken. Nothing to remember.
Dessert was actually quite good, we had the chocolate fondant, and the coffee was solid, too.
Would I come back? I’m not sure. I’ve had better steak and better service elsewhere in Amman, for the same price.
I genuinely hope this is taken in good faith. Please, give your waiters a confidence boost, we’re not that scary! And maybe play some music? It would go a long way toward creating a warmer, more inviting atmosphere.
The Caesar sald was good
I tried the strawberry compote it was perfect and the taste is so special also tried chocolate fondant it was tasty
Not very suitable for dates it mostly was families and teenagers i would prefer a quitter place with less lighting
Overall the experience is amazing
The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff throughout. I would like to give special thanks to Chef Hamza for his warm welcome and consistent care for the guests, which added a personal and thoughtful touch to the experience. The restaurant’s atmosphere was cozy and ideal for a pleasant evening.
Overall, it’s a solid choice for steak lovers, and I’d recommend it for anyone looking for a satisfying dining experience.
I loved their steak but it could be better , the sauce is delicious and the french fries as well
((tips and tricksYou can use the sauce as dip for the fries, it’s soo good))
Their service is amazing
For the dessert we ordered strawberry crumble and it was amazing and exceeded the expectations wowowo I’d love to come back for the crumble 10000 timesss
On top of that, they brought us the wrong order and then took it back.
While we were still eating dessert, they brought us the bill without us asking for it. The waiter then came back again and asked, “How would you like to pay?” This was very rude and made us feel rushed and unwelcome.
After all of this, they offered us a dessert from the restaurant at their expense. However, because of the disrespect and the way the situation was handled, we returned it. A simple apology could have fixed everything, but instead they chose the wrong action.
This place used to be my favorite, but after this very unpleasant and unprofessional experience, I will never go there again.
