We stopped here today 9/ 5 and was definitely disappointed. The food was ok minus the Caesar salad had huge pieces of the end of the lettuce in it. The service was not the best she definitely was not friendly and definitely didn’t want to be there. I was mostly disappointed in that we sat by the kitchen and I saw food well sandwiches being prepared with no gloves on, chips being put into boxes with gloves also. The guy cut a sandwich then took the knife and used it to grab a bag of chips off the top shelf then used it to cut a sandwich. I watched our waitress fix her hair twice in and out of a ponytail right in the kitchen where food was being prepared. We have came here a few times and I this will be our last, food handling is very important especially wearing gloves with ready to eat food.

Calabria is definitely a gem in Berks County. The food is prepared skillfully, the portions are somewhat mammoth!
Each of us had something different. The chicken parmigiana was enough to feed three people!
The lasagna and shrimp scampi were both delicious as well.
We shared the sampler for the appetizer. Wow! The eggplant fries tasted exactly how my mother made eggplant. How I have missed that!
As many other people have reported the wait time from the time of order to the time the food is presented is a bit long, as expected for freshly prepared food. We didn’t mind that.
The experience would have been near perfect had the wait time to be greeted by our server after we were seated wasn’t so very long. I thought we were forgotten for a bit. After that, all things were impeccable!

Love for food
I have mixed feelings about this visit. Our server was absolutely amazing—attentive and professional despite our large party. However, the management/ownership is another story.
I ordered the eggplant parm sub, which was overpriced and consisted almost entirely of the roll; there was hardly any eggplant to be found. To make matters worse, after we paid our individual checks, the owner sent our server back to our table to harass a guest for not leaving a “large enough” tip (it was under $10). It was incredibly unprofessional and clearly humiliated the poor server.
Note to diners: If you go, TIP IN CASH ONLY. It’s clear the owner is monitoring the card tips and I wouldn’t trust them to handle the staff’s earnings fairly. I won’t be back.

Calabria has some the best Italian food you will find anywhere. I suggest coming hungry because the portions are huge. Especially the chicken parm. That dish is easily big enough for two. A few tips. They are closed on Sundays. On Fridays and Saturdays they are very busy. Call ahead and make reservations. Also, give yourself about 2 hours for dinner. The food is made to order and they give you time to enjoy each course.

If you love pasta as much as I do, you will love this place! The best Friday comfort food is PASTA. We recently visited Calabria Italian Restaurant and fulfilled our carb craving! A great Italian restaurant located in Wernersville, PA. They have a great variety of dishes from traditional pasta dishes to delectable entrees, pizzas, and cocktails.

What we ordered:
-Fried Calamari: Lightly tossed in flour and fried
-Bruschetta: Housemade diced tomato, onion, basil mix with olive oil, over crispy Italian roll with balsamic glaze
-Shrimp Scampi: Shrimp in a white wine garlic sauce
-Chicken Parmigiana: Colossal chicken breast hand-poured and hand-breaded
-Gnocchi: with Alfredo sauce
-Espresso Martini

On 12/20/25 my spouse and I visited this restaurant for the first time. We were very disappointed. First, there was no greeter-seater at their station. There was only 4 people at the seating area. We waited for over 5 minutes until bar staff stopped chatting with others at the bar and then came over to seat us. My spouse got a tasteless burger, and I ordered spaghetti with a meatball. There was water from spaghetti in my dish. The bread was good. At one point the waiter came over and asked my spouse if she was done. He took her plate and proceeded to pick up my plate, not asking if I was done. How rude! To make matters worse they decided to add to our $6 tip another $4.
They also charged us for credit card use without notifying us.
Never again for us!

Amazing food! And we love that everything is made fresh so you don’t feel rushed while eating; you can sit, relax & just talk which is something we’ve sorely missed because of the pandemic. 8 highly recommend this place!

Some good dishes. Don’t try the cheese steak. Too much cheese not enough meat and soggy for real. Great people work there and the service is amazing but the cheese steak is worst I’ve ever had.

Food was fantastic, Nadia was our server and she was a joy. Very attentive and checked up with use through out our meal. My wife and I both had the chicken and rice soup, which came out in metal bowls and was fantastic.
My wife had the Chicken Parmesan over Angel Hair pasta with a red sauce. I had Fettuccine Alfredo with a sweet Italian sausage that was to die for. The sausage was as good as I used to have on Sunday dinners at my grandparents house, it was as good as what we would get in Brooklyn. We each got a Cannoli to go for later tonight. Definately recommend this place.
