With a passion for creating happy people and our love of coffee, we opened our first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. The demand for convenient, quality coffee & espresso grew and soon after opening our original location in Ashland, we expanded to surrounding cities in Southern Oregon. The Human Bean quickly established a reputation for having friendly and experienced baristas and offering the highest quality ingredients.

This is a lovely spot to grab coffee, especially on a sunny day. The service was great, the staff were super friendly. We got our coffees to go and sat outside, and enjoyed the sun.

We came to this location for the first time in late June. The young ladies working were so sweet! My daughter and I both ordered our favorite, Frozen Hot Chocolate. The chocolate-covered bean they give as a garnish with each drink is a lovely special touch!

The food and drinks were great, lady at the window was very friendly. Though after ordering the district manager and another higher up were having what should have been private conversations with a her in-front of multiple customers. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE to be talking about parting ways and putting personal business out with customers at the table next to them. If you’re looking for change start with the top. This location doesn’t make the same recipes as the others. It’s the only location that I’ve been to, consistently where the coffee tastes like a 7 Eleven. I don’t know if they’re using a different quality of product, ratios are off- training issue, or if they are not pulling full shots of espresso, but it is watery, and cheap tasting. Such a bummer because I keep giving it a shot since Human Bean has always been a favorite of mine! Hopefully they can take a look at quality control overall. Snowy Mocha shown below… watery, little ice, tastes like sugary, watery milk.
