Longtail Kitchen is an amazing spot for delicious Thai street-style food! The flavours are fresh, vibrant, and authentic. I tried the chicken wings and the pad thai, and both were absolutely perfect balanced spice, great portion sizes, and super fresh ingredients.
The staff are friendly, fast, and always welcoming, and the atmosphere is cozy with a nice view of the river. It’s one of those places you can visit again and again because the quality is always consistent.
Highly recommend Longtail Kitchen if you’re looking for tasty, comforting Thai food made with care. Definitely one of the best spots in New Westminster!

I would give a minus rating if that were an option. I normally can handle very spicy food, but I’ve never had anything this spicy in my life even as a Thai person. This was the worst Pad Thai I’ve had in Vancouver, and it wasn’t authentic at all to me. I wouldn’t recommend this place for Pad Thai.
I do like their gai lan with crispy pork, but my friend and I were very disappointed with the Pad Thai. Neither of us could eat it, and it felt like wasted money. In Thailand, Pad Thai is never made with this kind of spiciness, and fresh chilies are not used this way. The flavor just wasn’t right.

Best Pad Thai hands down. I used to work in a pan Asian Thai restaurant in Toronto 25years ago and THIS is how we made it. Absolutely ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We were craving Thai food and we decided to go New Wesminster Quay since it was close to home.
Let’s start with the deep-fried wings. Skin was crispy it crackled giving way to juicy, tender meat that practically melted in my mouth. Each bite was an explosion of savory goodness, with just the right hint of spice to keep things interesting. The wings came with nam pla sauce but wasn’t spicy and had a thicker consistency that I I never had before.
Next up, the deep-fried squid. Now, I’ve had calamari before, but this was on another level. The squid was cooked to perfection, not rubbery or chewy like some places serve it. Instead, it was delicate and almost sweet, with a satisfyingly crispy exterior. The squid with rice came with a fried egg similar to the ones that you would get in Thailand.
Overall, this meal was a flavor bomb. It was the kind of food that makes you close your eyes and savor every bite. If you’re looking for a culinary adventure, this is it. Definitely not expecting this from a food court type place. Only improvement I can see is the eating area was a little bit cold with an uninsulated metal and glass garage door. You may want to bring your food to the central eating area where it’s nice and warm. I’ll be coming back here again.

Such a great experience!! Great tasting food, quick eat and reasonable prices make this restaurant our new favourite!! The outdoor patio allowed our pups to enjoy a little snacky snack with their mama after a long nice walk on the pier. Great service and the atmosphere are on point

I always saw the good reviews about this place. Finally, we made it there. Really friendly service from a lovely thai girl who gave us a warm welcome. Really delicious food, fast service, nice portion with good price and a nice patio outside on a sunny day. Thank you very much again for a free rice for the girls and a free thai tea for me, very kind of you! So this is our favorite thai restaurant in New Westminster

Longtail has been a fixture in the food scene at the NewWest Quay for a number of years now. They are very consistent with high quality dishes. Great place to savour the food as you can either sit outside and enjoy the view of the river or sit inside. I ordered the stir fried eggplant with rice. Unlike other places’ stir fried eggplant dishes, their’s still had a crispy texture as the sauce was underneath the pile of eggplant. Very tasty flavours and not too salty! My only constructive comment is the price seemed a little high (as were all the other dishes).

The food is well presented and prepared at the moment but our noodles were too rich, there was way too much sauce, and that made them a bit too salty. The canned beverages are too sweet with artificial flavours in them, the coconut one especially.

I always receive good service and I love the eggplant cooked just right and well seasoned. I recommend it to my friends and I sell it whenever I can. Come and try it and you will become a customer like me! Good luck!

We ordered basil pork and egg with rice, and a green curry tofu. Both dishes were good, and the presentation was good as well. Staff were polite and they came to fill water several times. The food was not cheap though – $16 per dish (for the items we ordered). If you are in the area, this restaurant is worth a try.
