Walked up to the door, the windows were nicely painted with winter pines.
We were seated right away, and when we picked a corner booth in the back, a waitress mentioned that it was chilly back there, and helped us move.
A very nice waitress helped us pick out our food, in particular, recommending the chunky monkey waffle, my wife LOVED it! I had the turkey club… The toast was pleasantly crispy, the bacon crunchy, the tomato cold, just like a turkey club should be . Also the coffee was quite good, not bitter at all! I’m picky with coffee, so high praise, I had 2 cups .
The whole experience was very pleasant, DEFINITELY recommend!
Short version – NO. It is NOT worth your time or visit.
Everything is from the 10 pound cans. Gravy is Libbys and not served warm four people were served cold plates. Gravy is cold, biscuits … needed a minute to be identified maybe frozen biscuits that were put under the Gravy then everything got ‘heated’ at once and left to get cold. Sausages are basic links and also served cold on four out of four plates.
If you are blind or intellectually disabled both of you will be ignored COMPLETELY. You can order a coffee like three of your table and be the only one left out. You can order a box half way through your nasty cold canned potato meal and have the ‘maybe drunk’ waitress walk past your table qith a box to another table and ask them if they want they want a box. Your spoons are liable atleast 2 out of a four person party, to have crusty stuff on them as they are handed to you ‘new/clean’.
When (not the oldest waitress and not the drunk waitress) comes to finally give your entire table boxes at the end, they will hand the box (that the blind customer asked for 30 minutes ago and is seating on the outside section of a both) to a sighted party member on the inside of the booth and say “for her”.
I’m not sure what to even say about that each time the nonintoxicated non elderlest waitress interacts with neuro divergent party members in a table of three or a blind patreon of a party of four…she refuses to acknowledge what they say, refuses to follow through with any ‘additional requests’ from those individuals.
Jake and I had the fish, which comes with fries, and oh happy day – these are diner fries the way diner fries were intended. Delicious. The fish was crispy outside and flaky inside – also delicious.
Mom got the goulash, which was on the special board. She said it was ok but wondered if they forgot to put tomato paste in there. Goulash needs tomato paste to give it that earthy taste.
Pricing was reasonable, what you would expect at a diner. This was my first visit, but I will be back.
