Lovely family run Italian restaurant, very relaxed home-like atmosphere (not snooty at all, I HATE snooty), opened with stuffed oyster shells, I had swordfish and wife had veal, both were in a piccata sauce, fantastic, tiramisu cake definitely home made (not out of a box), fantastic attentive service, after dinner drink was a nice touch. SO good, will definitely return.

Food and service is amazing. Only one thing that i did not like is that they don’t have any non-alcoholic drinks. Otherwise everything is good, especially desserts.

Our fist visit to Michelina’s. Great experience. Our party of four each ordered the Chicken Alfredo. Quality ingredients, skillfully prepared, presented in a tastefully decorated setting. Decorations included fresh flowers. During our dinner the proprietor stopped by our table to welcome us, and again later to insure our dinner met our expectations. We will certainly be back to enjoy another great meal at Michelina’s.

Great restaurant. Hidden gem. Family owned with authentic Sicilian food. I have never had a bad dish here. The Napoli salad is unique and one of the best salads anywhere. Healthy ingredients just bursting with flavor. The Shrimp Michelina is also a creative dish that has robust flavors from a crafting of quality and fresh ingredients. They will even give you a complimentary cordial after dinner if you want. This is an excellent place that should be tried over the more expensive places in town. Sometimes the owner comes table side to make sure your mail was satisfactory.

My wife and I made our first visit to Michelina’s for dinner last night. The food, service and atmosphere made for a lovely experience. Our server, Kayla, was pleasant and professional. There are not many places in Arizona that have good Southern Italian food like Michelina’s. We look forward to our next visit.

So as I write this review. We showed up when they open at 5pm. They have absolutely no walk in table. So my review is based on the fact we could even get through the door. With an empty parking lot. And absolutely Restaurant! They can’t accommodate walk ins. This was our first our first and last try there. You should always have a table or two for new customers! This is how you get bad reviews! We went to Tad Devil just a few miles away and had the best Italian dinner we could imagine! Sorry Michalinas, but when the doors open .. and you have an empty dinning too
You should have a table or two for walking!
Evidentially we didn’t really miss out! . .

This little gem is tucked away in a small plaza located on Shea right off of the 51. It looks nondescript from the outside, but as soon as you walk in, it’s a beautiful, clean, white tablecloth, high-end restaurant. We did not have a reservation, which I highly recommend due to their limited seating, but they sat us with a smile anyways and we got lucky arriving so late at night that we did not have to wait for a table. They were so busy, which is always a great sign of an excellent restaurant. You can tell the staff take pride in their work. Our server’s face lit up when he described the specials and engaged with all our questions. The appetizer we ordered was our first time trying escargot, and I was thrilled with their preparation. The fresh pasta with the entry was a delight and our desert was the perfect ending to the night.

Dinner tonight in Phoenix area at Michelina’s Ristorante Costa Compagnia. Great Italian food. A recommendation from a friend. I had the Sea bass Special, We also had the ravioli plus we had the zabaglione ( Italian custard with berries ). Enjoyable! We met Michelina ( the owner ). This restaurant was voted top 10 in Arizona.

I got invited out to eat here with family for the first time and unfortunately, didn’t enjoy it as much as I hopped for.
The chicken Alfredo reviews and photos looked absolutely amazing online and made my mouth water. I was craving homemade chicken Alfredo so badly, as I missed making it from scratch for my mom; a recipe my sister taught me. Yet when I took my first bite, I was immediately met with disappointment. The Alfredo sauce was just so bland! It needed either more Parmesan cheese or seasonings or both! The noodles tasted fresh and made from scratch, but would have been much better with a well prepared sauce. The chicken however, was grilled nicely and had good flavor. Truly though, when you’re ordering Alfredo you want a dish that is thick, tasty, and creamy! With a sauce that wasn’t seasoned well, how can you say it advertises the dishes name properly!?! Also, the sauce to noodle ratio was not even; too much noodles compared to the sauce amount.
The establishment on the other hand, was truly beautiful. We had lovely staff come to serve plates and take them away all with a friendly demeanor. Our server however, seemed like he was really trying to “sales pitch” their daily/exclusive menu rather than being personable with us.
Overall, while the restaurant is beautiful and there is mostly kind staff, be wary of some of the bland meals (I also tried my dad’s veal which was a bit tough and okay flavor wise, though I’ve never had veal before and don’t know if its texture should be like that.) I think the best parts were truly the house salad and starter breads they give you rather than the entrees.

I had a bad experience going to this restaurant. I made reservations well in advance for a special occasion. Brian greeted us when my party of five walked in, and he showed us to a tiny round table. Initially I thought he was kidding. The table was so small, and it was tucked in the corner with the walls encroaching on where we were supposed to be sitting. The table was also so close to the neighboring two tables that the back of the seats between people sitting at two different tables were almost touching. I politely asked if we could sit at a bigger table, to which Brian responded “I don’t think so” in a haughty tone. I would have walked out of the restaurant then if it weren’t for the special occasion and not wanting to disappoint other people in my party. The dining experience was cramped, as expected. We couldn’t have both the small side salad and the main dish on the table at the same time, because it was simply too small. The house salad did taste very good, though. It had little red beets in it. The main dishes were okay, but the Marinara sauce was very bland and reminded me of store-bought sauce. I had expected more from the food for the high prices charged. Overall I was very disappointed with my experience, and I will not be returning.
