We walked in with relatively low expectations, assuming this would be just another standard Indian meal. We couldn’t have been more wrong. While the menu has familiar favorites, it is infused with authentic Nepalese flavors that added a unique and unexpected depth to every dish.
The standouts were easily the Thali, which offered a beautiful variety of tastes, and both the Samosa Chat and Spinach Chat—the latter was a delightful surprise in texture and seasoning. A fair warning: the portion sizes are generous. We over-ordered, but the food held up so well that we enjoyed a second feast the next day. To top it off, the service was fabulous; the staff was attentive and welcoming. We will definitely be returning!
Went with my wife and a friend, we ordered and shared three different types of momo (there were like 15 different types).
Going to have to go back to try them all.
Unfortunately, there was a mix-up with our momo order due to a mistake by the server who took our order. The experience was disappointing, especially as we ended up being served the wrong type of meat. The server appeared disinterested and careless, which contributed to the issue.
However, when we brought it to the attention of the owner, Mr. Ajay, he was sincerely apologetic and handled the situation with professionalism and genuine care. It was clear that the error was not reflective of his management or the kitchen staff, but rather a one-off incident involving the server.
We felt bad and the fact that the rest of the food was truly enjoyable we’ve decided not to let this incident overshadow the overall experience. We’ve taken off one star for the service hiccup, but we’re definitely planning to return soon to explore more of the menu.
Yak and Yeti is a hidden gem, and we’re looking forward to trying more of their authentic Nepalese dishes
The Lamb Saag was fresh and tasty.
The Goat Curry was great, but don’t get if you’re not ok with picking bones out. It warns you on the menu and its no joke. 90% of the goat pieces come with a bone in them. Well worth the work. But I’d recommend avoiding on a first date.
We will be back and i definitely recommend it.
I recently visited YAK & Yeti and honestly, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had.
First, we ordered the tandoori chicken, and it was shockingly bland. There was barely any seasoning — it didn’t even seem to have basic salt. Tandoori chicken is supposed to be flavorful and well-marinated, but this was completely tasteless.
Next, we ordered noodles, and that was equally disappointing. The noodles had no real flavor. Everything tasted flat and dull.
The kids’ meal was also very poor. It was tasteless, under-seasoned, and clearly prepared without much care. For a restaurant, especially at their pricing level, this is unacceptable.
On top of that, there was not enough staff to handle the crowd. Service felt disorganized and slow. The ambience was also lacking — nothing about the place felt welcoming or enjoyable.
What makes it worse is that the restaurant is on the expensive side. For those prices, you expect quality, proper seasoning, good service, and a decent atmosphere — none of which were delivered.
Overall, I would strongly discourage anyone from visiting. There are much better restaurants that offer far better food and value for money.
