Visited this restaurant last Friday, and not without a sense of trepidation given they’ve just recently moved from above a takeaway with a few mixed to negative reviews to the new premises. Which given the Mexican theme I’m assuming they’re possibly only temporary in there as well. No beer on draft and the menu had just been massively overhauled only added to our worries.
Well that’s the end of the negativity because everything else was great. The… I’m going to call him The Host, offered us the option of choosing things from the old menu if we wanted it and so two of group had a starter and a main and me and my friend decided to split the bigger platter. All the food was excellent. Turns out I like clams. Which I didn’t know beforehand. Pretty tasty spicy garlic sauce and even some nice bread to mop up some of that. We were given some plastic gloves and a bib/apron to prevent ourselves getting covered in debris and splashes when cracking open some of the shells which while we side-eyed to begin with were absolutel life (and clothes) savers
The big platter option was not cheap (£129 which we split between two of us), but as an experience it was worth the money. The starters and mains all things considered were really good value compared to some restaurant prices and were apparently also excellent quality.
So overall would recommend at least once if you’ve never done a proper seafood boil/platter experience, and will probably go back for some of the great looking starters and mains.

The restaurant is absolutely amazing! The food is incredibly delicious, the portions are very generous, and the staff are super friendly. The chef is very humble and welcoming, and we truly felt like we were at home. This is our second time visiting, but this time we came to their new branch — and the food was just as delicious and very clean. Highly recommended!

The staff there are very respectful and keep a very tidy restaurant!! they sat us down as soon as we walked in gave us time to choose our food, then kept us updated on the wait as we had ordered the premium platter, everything was absolutely amazing it all tasted so flavourful and very nicely seasoned and they give you all the tools etc to be able to enjoy everything this place is very recommended!! it was so good my mam and dad ended up coming after me and my boyfriend had went! highly recommend everything was absolutely lovely!! The seafood is amazing. We were 4 people ordered a scallop dish with the size of scallops is huge, Napoli pasta which is good and in big portion and a platinum seafood platter. We were so shocked with the size of seafood platter as it was very big and more than enough for 4 people. The staffs are nice and friendly too.

We were 4 people so we ordered a seafood boil and a gold platter. The food is insanely delicious, rich in flavour, and perfectly cooked. I think we were quite lucky as the place wasn’t too busy when we went, so it didn’t take too long until the food was served. The staff is very professional and friendly too. Will definitely come back!

Extraordinary place and must-visit restaurant in Newcastle. I’m sure you’d never find a better seafood restaurant with such reasonable prices and amazing staff in the city. Huge portions, food properly prepared and seasoned, amazing chef, who personally came and asked if we enjoyed the dishes – all this created a warm and joyful atmosphere. The place is not easy to find, but definitely highly recommended!

Visited here on Friday. I was really looking forward to it as seen many pictures and food looked amazing , which it was lovely , Scallops for starter which were beautiful and then shared a gold platter which we enjoyed. However, service was terrible and did not match the class of the food. We arrived for a pre booked table at 6pm, nobody was eating as previous guests had all finished. We waited 1 hr 20 min for our starter, six tables filled up with guests after us and the whole restaurant sat for a very long time with no food . One couple actually walked out .
Was there no chef to cook for the restaurant, I can only assume with the Net being hidden above the takeaway that the chefs were concentrating on the takeaway side.
Suggestions if I may add that customers recieve nibbles, bread etc especially for prolonged waiting time .
I like how the restaurant is hidden away I just think some attention to detail would really help as people will be spending alot of money for seafood experience.
Table decor would be nice also.
Maybe we visited on a bad day which is a shame. Possibly really short staffed , no waiting staff either.
It could be a really lovely place .

A true hidden gem in Newcastle City Center, I have seen the mixed reviews but still decided to try it as it is rare to find a good seafood place, but oh god I’m glad i tried it, everything was cooked to perfection, the service was good and I do underatand a bit of delay is expected if everything is cooked fresh, trust me it was worth the wait.
