This place is a total gem! Incredible food, super friendly staff, and a great atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. The new menu additions are outstanding—both the food and drinks bring exciting new flavors and variety. You can really tell they put thought into every detail. Highly recommend!

La Catrina is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago! The food is always super yummy — I’ve tried so many things on the menu over the past few years, and everything has been amazing.
I’ve been coming here regularly for about three years now, and every visit feels special. I just want to give a huge thank-you to the owners, David and Christina, and to all the staff — they always make us feel so welcome and cared for. You can tell they truly love what they do.
Gracias, for not only serving some of the best Mexican food and drinks in the city, but also for creating such a warm, fun atmosphere. Just randomly popped in here for lunch before going grocery shopping. First of all, incredibly tacos. I’ve never been somewhere where they ask you how you like your tripa (I prefer it crispy). I ordered a chorizo taco, tripa, and chile rellenos. All 3 were incredibly good. Before I could leave, the hostess/waitress brought me some French toast on the house because she said they wanted to start serving breakfast and wanted me to try it, and it was also delicious! Definitely will be coming back here at some point, such a nice hidden gem.

Pretty solid Mexican food – the birria meat was excellent, though I wish there were two corn tortillas per taco it needed the extra structural integrity.
I liked the free chips, they were fresh and crisp. Plenty of salsa and the 3 hot sauces were excellent.

Been here 2 times and each time had a great experience. Customer service is impeccable. I recommend the French toast for breakfast, seriously one of the best French toasts I’ve had! Fur lunch/dinner the quesabirria and enchiladas were delicious. Lots of drink (21+) options as well!

Where do I begin… as a local to the area, La Catrina is has been our go to for a while now. The staff is always incredibly friendly, the food is consistently good, and it is a reasonable price! We especially love the queso fundido con chorizo and their tacos!

Amazing experience (as always). This is our go to Mexican restaurant because they never skimp out on the meat and the hospitality goes above and beyond every time! I feel like I’m in my abuela’s kitchen whenever I’m here this was our first time trying the churros and WOW! They were amazing. Overall a 10/10.

Such a hidden gem , ordered ceviche from here one time and now it’s our restaurant favorite when it comes to Mexican in the area ! We come around maybe 3 times a month either for food or just a quick drink with some appetizers. Staff is always very welcoming and couldn’t recommend more of such a lowkey spot

Had my 1st date with a guy here after the balloon museum! It was really awesome! The staff is really sweet and gave us a dessert on the house! I felt so much love! Great food and the house margaritas are amazing!

My boyfriend and I were going to order chipotle to go. Two steak burritos for $44 with delivery. Insane. We ordered two steak burritos, two margaritas, and it was $57.
