Our server was wonderful. She inquired if we’re were there to attend the show and ensured prompt service so we make open doors.
For starters we got the bread & butter, crispy tuna and French onion soup. The bread was warm and soft and the butter was the perfectly salty. I enjoyed the tuna however I felt the sushi rice was a bit too thick. And my husband loved the soup.
For the entrees I got the Brisket dip and elote, and my husband got the burger and fries. He was not impressed with the burger and felt it tasted like a cheap grade beef but he said the fries were wonderful. The brisket dip was delicious and I loved the elote. Overall it wasn’t bad but I do think we would try some other options next time.
The brunch menu is extremely limited — only about four main options, and oddly there were more side dishes and appetizers than actual main courses. Nothing looked particularly appealing. I ordered the vegetable omelette thinking it would be a safe choice, but it was honestly awful. It arrived in a bowl, and the egg was unusually thick and dense — not fluffy at all. It was topped with a few cherry tomatoes, pieces of broccoli and cauliflower, and arugula salad. When it arrived, it didn’t even look like an omelette — it looked like a salad. The dish was bland and had very little flavor. My husband ordered the same thing and felt the same way.
A friend ordered the burger, which was very greasy and she couldn’t even finish half of it.
The drinks were okay, the waitress was friendly, and the service overall was fine. The location and lake views are beautiful, which is really the main positive.
I understand when a more upscale restaurant offers creative dishes instead of standard brunch items, but that usually comes with high-quality food. Here, the food was mediocre at best, so it’s surprising that there weren’t even basic brunch options like a club sandwich, classic omelette, or BLT. The restaurant was also only half full for Sunday brunch, which says a lot.
It’s hard to understand why the menu hasn’t been reworked, and it makes me wonder whether the chef or owner has actually tasted these dishes. I can’t comment on the dinner menu, but based on this experience, I have no desire to return except maybe for the view.
The venue is modern and well lit! Would attend for a nice dinner, business meeting or any type of gathering really!
We had the devilled eggs, brisket dip, and fish & chips. All were amazing. Try the French 75 to add a delicious libation.
Highly recommend steak and frites on the regular menu.
