I have been to other locations before and was in the area so I decided to stop here, I got a single origin cortado and a pourover. I had great service, the place is so cute, my s/o cortado was amazing, the pourover was great also. Overall this has been my favorite location and I will come back again!

I love Rising Star so very much! They really put their heart and soul into coffee sourcing and roasting the best coffee. Their menu is full of delicious choices – pour over, lattes, teas, treats from Spice, seasonal exciting choices, and more. They also have a great assortment of coffee beans that they source from global coffee farms. The ambiance is always relaxed, the space is inviting, and service is amazing. I have been a customer of Rising Star for a while, and recently was even more impressed with their ability to handle events and large crowds. Can’t say enough good things! Just consistently amazing! Give them a try!

This place is a gem. Had a long drive and stressful morning.. this place saved the day! Atmosphere is so pleasant, will ease you out, the baristas are warm and welcoming and they even made me laugh! The coffee here is delicious. My wife and I had a pour over and a cortado: both were excellent. It’s so good to find a place where the coffee is not just bitter water, but a true work of art and labor of love. Vegan scones were very tasty and honestly better than any other scone I’ve had in Cleveland. Don’t miss out on this place, it’s worth the stop.

Stopped here for a quick coffee and the space is beautiful! Super bright, lots of natural light and window and plenty of seating. Would be a perfect place to work/study at for a few hours!
I got the cardamon bomb latte (as recommended by the barista) and it was delicious! I went midday on a Monday and it seemed like most of their bagels were out so maybe something to keep in mind if you wanted to grab food. Can’t wait to come back!

Modern aesthetic, traditional service, coffee shop! I’m arriving as it hasn’t been at this location for very long but I enjoyed the ambiance and I think that they are very deserving of accolades for the presentation of coffee, level of service, and taste of coffee (so delicious!). The owner is not skimping, is not overcharging us, and that matters. I’m so glad this space is filled again and south Taylor is coming alive again. You might miss it because it’s not heavy on outdoor signage (hopefully that changes so people can spot it) but yeah it’s right across from DMV, so wait there while you wait in that forever line if you know what I mean.

Rising Star is one of the best cafes in the area for quality coffee at a great price. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I tried the decaf Americano, latte, and pour-over all nicely made. While the decaf wasn’t my favorite, that’s likely due to how the beans were processed, not the shop itself. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend this branch.

The South Taylor location is a beautiful space with lots of natural light, and it’s easy to understand why people stay for hours working or studying. During peak times, finding a seat can be difficult. The drinks themselves are enjoyable, and I appreciate that brewed coffee and tea are served in pots when dining in.
Unfortunately, my low rating is due to the current service. While some staff are pleasant, others appear disengaged—ringing up orders without eye contact, minimal communication, and little effort to offer even basic customer service. As someone who works as a barista, this lack of engagement is especially noticeable and disappointing.
On one visit, I overheard a staff member openly complaining to a coworker about making lattes and expressing disdain for common drink orders, which contributed to an unwelcoming atmosphere. It gave the impression that interacting with customers was an inconvenience rather than the job.
I have fond memories of the previous staff at the diner location, but as it currently stands, the service has become off-putting enough that I now avoid going here despite liking the space itself.

Checked out this new location for the first time. I think it’ll become a new regular spot for me! There’s plenty of seating, including lots of couches. I do think the prices are a bit more than some of the other local coffee shops, but probably commensurate with the other Rising Star locations.

Lovely cafe located in an old Diner. Had a black coffee with oatmeal and a chocolate croissant and cost $11. The Diner was busy with uni students working on their lab tops. Friendly staff and very accommodating.

My favorite coffee shop just got even better! The new location is beautiful with big windows that flood the space with natural light—perfect for studying or just hanging out. The coffee is amazing as always, locally roasted, and ethically sourced. The addition of vegan food is a huge plus, and everything I’ve tried has been delicious.
