My wife and I really enjoyed the restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was good; the food didn’t take long to be served. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try Puerto Rican food.

I got three items to try.

The cubano sandwich with plantains
The blood sausage
For the sandwich, everything blended perfectly and made with real bread, it was a great quality sandwich with the perfect amount of flavor and being tender. The plantains were cooked perfectly.

The blood sausage, I have not had a good quality one like that in years I absolutely loved it. The taste, the spices, freshness was great

If you are looking for *authentic* Puerto Rican food, this is the place! The owners are from my hometown and every time I go it feels like my grandma’s cooking. The staff is friendly and make you feel like family. Overall, the atmosphere/food is exactly what you’d find at a family restaurant on the island.

Came here on karaoke night awhile back. I was craving mofongo–which is a savory cake of mashed plantains. It’s topped with protein of your choice. I introduced my friends to aculpurrias, sorrulitos, and a few other PR snacks/appetizers. One of my friends got a burger with a plantain bun, the other got ribs. We all sampled each others’ food. Everything was so good! And, the music was great! Will definitely come back the next time I’m craving “comida criolla”.

I will be back and can’t wait to try even more of this awesome menu. I came here for a cubano and got a different sandwhich instead with some appetizers and rice dishes for my kid. I was really happy with everything I ate here and thought the service was good too. I will return!

A Taste of Paradise in Windsor Heights!
Last night, I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Puerto Rico Restaurant in Windsor Heights, and I can’t stop raving about it! From the moment I walked in, the mellow atmosphere and excellent service made me feel right at home. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, even joining in to sing “Happy Birthday” with us at our table, which just added to the fun and enjoyable vibe.
I started with the Trio Mix, which was a perfect introduction to their delicious offerings. The alcapurrias were a definite highlight – so good! Filled with savory beef, the yucca had a wonderfully satisfying chew, making them easily the best appetizer. The empanadas were also very good, and I’m already planning to try the pizza ones next time. And those sorullitos de maiz? Simple, delicious little corn fritters that were a perfect snack. I also enjoyed the rellenos de papa, which offered the same tasty beef filling as the alcapurrias and empanadas, but in a soft, flavorful potato pocket.
For my main course, the beef steak sandwich was incredibly tasty with great flavor. I also loved the tostones – a delicious and interesting alternative to traditional French fries. The sauce they serve with them makes it palatable for anyone. The mofongo was another standout; a flavorful, chunky mashed potato like dish packed with garlic – absolutely delicious! And the chicharrones de pollo were phenomenal. They were meaty on the inside with a super crisp, crunchy breading that really set them apart. Don’t forget to try the passion fruit juice; it was so refreshing.
Now, let’s talk about dessert. The vanilla flan was nothing short of amazing, and what makes it even more special is that it’s homemade by the server herself! It’s dangerously good, and I honestly haven’t stopped thinking about it. She also makes other incredible pastries with guava and cheese fillings, among other varieties, all of which were just amazingly good.
I can’t wait to go back and try the Cuban sandwich and the pasta salad. This is truly a must-visit spot in Windsor Heights for authentic and incredibly flavorful Puerto Rican cuisine. Highly, highly recommend!

This is truly a community review. A group of eight of us went to dinner this evening and we were less than impressed. The wait staff was extremely friendly but the atmosphere was loud with music blaring and TVs running. Table conversation was limited to the fact there was so much noise we couldn’t hear one another. We ordered several appetizers to share amongst the group and about 60% of it was inedible due to overfrying. The main dishes came out and they were very bland and not a lot of spice. Couldn’t add salt as there was still high sodium content in the food just not a lot of flavor. The one good thing we received was the cubanito sandwich which I would highly recommend.

We had the trio appetizer. All of it was delicious. I had the Cubano sandwich. It was excellent! The bread was toasted and the meat was delicious. I had the Coconut Flan for dessert. That was also fantastic! They had a musician playing music. He was very talented. He came over to our table and played us a song.
