We decided to try the San Jose’s in Elgin today. We’ve been to a couple other ones and usually frequent the one in Camden. The waiter was less than friendly, almost annoyed with us for being there. I had the chicken enchilada soup, it was really good. My husband got the burrito that he always gets at the Camden store, he said the Camden one was better. The two friends with us also agreed with him that the food in Camden was better. The atmosphere was not as appealing as we hoped. It’s actually kind of drab inside. Not a fan of the Elgin San Jose’s. I do however like the Sparkleberry Lane San Jose’s and definitely the Camden one.

Excellent food and service although the restaurant was a little warm. It was hot outside though. This location is much smaller than other San Jose locations. We ordered the chicken and steak fajitas as well as the chicken burritos can’t forget the queso cheese dip.

This place is excellent. My brother is a regular here and i have been here a few times. The service, food, atmosphere and drinks here are impeccable. The staff are also warm and friendly. I willbe coming here every time i come through town. 10/10 you definitely need to come here.

Food was amazing the service was fast only issue I had was they had the music up so loud we couldn’t hear each other talk even at our own table. Other than that everything was perfect. Will definitely be going back soon!

We love this San Jose! And had a great reminder why the salsa was so fresh I could have just eaten that! Not spicy which I liked, the food came out quickly and was delicious! Pomegranate margarita was perfect not to sweet! Then the strawberry filled churros just set it off!

A little mix up on the order w some small uncharged once corrected salad instead of beans ordered but overall great place and seemed quick to resolve our delayed third order done as requested .

I just had a fabulous shrimp and vegetable quesadilla. The vegetables had a good amount of char on them and weren’t extra oily. The salsa is absolutely amazing! If you go, be sure to take some salsa and chips (which were fresh) home.

They get our takeout order wrong frequently. Check everything before you leave! Also, their menu on the website is out of date. Everything is at least $2 more expensive than what’s shown. Be prepared to pay more than you plan to when you pick up your takeout order. We thought we were paying $8 for a lunch combo and when we picked it up it was $10. The other items we ordered were also more expensive then what the menu stated. Chavela’s is more affordable and the food tastes fresher, so my recommendation would be to go there instead.
