This one is a tough review to give on the stars scale. Our server was adorable. She was trying so hard and she was very friendly. She was still new at making cocktails but she was trying and got help when she needed it. Can’t beat the service. She was very attentive. The restaurant wasn’t very crowded and the prices were reasonable. The downside was the discovery of a cockroach climbing on the wall. I’m not sure if it’s a one off thing but that’s not the kind of thing I want to see at a dining establishment. We were done eating so it wasn’t like it ruined my meal. But after we were done it definitely made me feel like I didn’t want to go back. I hope this can get fixed for them.

Well, let’s take a step back for a moment. I’ve been coming here a long time….a very long time. Too long in fact to recapture all the magical moments in my life. In fact, Mac’s has been so important to me as I have celebrated life here and celebrated one’s who are no longer with us. It’s just the staff and the attention to details that sets this establishment into another level. You want a properly poured Guinness, they got you. You want amazing fresh and seasonal food with an Irish flair, they got you. You want atmosphere and music…they got you in spades. But the real test is showing up on a Wednesday night (weekday night) and just ordering a pint and some good grub. It always delivers and again, it’s because of the kitchen staff, the bar staff and the management. It’s worth a visit and if you happen to see Sarah behind the bar, tell her you want the perfect pint…she’ll serve up the best one you had. And NO shamrocks in the head (let’s not go there).

Celebrated my birthday here with my girlfriends. I chose Mac McGee’s because I wanted a Guinness. Got my Guinness and so much more. The shepherds pie was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their food. The desserts are AMAZING! Who would think? You have to try them. Comfy pub atmoshere felt like we were in the UK. And best of all – our server and bartender, Dustin and Fred were on top of everything we needed. It was just the two of them, with a full house, but we nevert wanted for anything. And they are very nice and friendly to boot. Highly recommend!! We’ll be back soon!

We live hanging out at this spot. It’s like a neighborhood hole-in-the-wall. The staff is super welcoming when customers walk in the door. Food is tasty. And, the prices are reasonable.
It gets crowded early on weekends. There’s a band at night. Bring your friends for a good time.

Step off the sidewalk, past the outdoor seating, down 4 steps and enter a pleasantly decorated pub. Complete with dark wood work, appropriate decor, friendly staff and food that will tease your taste buds.

Having spent 20+ years at irish pubs in Atlanta – whether it be Fado or Meehans or similar we encountered a new dynamic tonight that was both threatening and completely new
myself and my friend were enjoying a few beers by ourselves at the bar until the following harassment occurred
James – (security) decided to stop by and said ‘ I be heard you both use the F word and you need to leave’
We were just chatting to ourselves. Dumbfounded we asked the bar staff if we had been inappropriate to anyone. ‘No – absolutely not’
Thankfully the managers intervened and agreed we had done nothing wrong but we left asap.
i’m not sure why James felt it appropriate to insert himself into our conversation but it was the most rude and inappropriate situation i’ve ever had.
I hope the owners read this. Your security thinks it’s ok to threaten guest for absolutely no reason.

The best review I can give is that we will absolutely be back! We’re new to the area and had a fish and chips craving. We decided to try Mac McGee and had a great time. The food was delicious (ate before being able to take a pic), the service was perfect on a busy Friday evening and we enjoyed a proper Guinness. The Half & Half is my new drink obsession. Not too loud for conversations but the live music made it a bit harder if you’re downstairs. Still, we will be back and I definitely recommend the pub.
