The hot and sour soup was delicious and the winner for me. It was just the right vinegar for me. The tempura shrimp and fried rice and the mushu shrimp was not great for me. It was ok. The general tso chicken was ok. The waffle ice cream was really and worth trying. The strawberry waffle ice cream has white chocolate. Yum.

By far the best Chinese restaurant to come to RSM. They have the standard flair of entrees but using better ingredients and creating complex dishes by adding more ingredients to basic recipes. The egg flower soup has corn in it which adds a unique base flavor much better than the boring and bland egg flower soups most Chinese restaurants offer.
The hot and sour soup is amazing and so is the sizzling rice soup. My husband and I came back multiple times to try a different array of dishes. Nothing has disappointed us! 100% recommend. Their prices are incredibly fair, too. You get a lot of food for less than you’d typically spend elsewhere.

It’s a cute little cozy, feel restaurant. Fantastic food, and great service.
I also have very high standards when it comes to boba milk tea, they exceeded them. Boba is perfect and milk tea isn’t overly artificial flavored like most places. 10/10 in my book.

So I got DoorDash, thought I ordered general tsao chicken but accidentally got the Kung pao chicken, and, may I say, this is the best Kung pao chicken in town. Very authentic, you can tell they don’t use MSG, and it just hits right. Definitely ordering again, cheers

I’m honestly surprised they don’t have more customers (at least that’s my perception each time I’ve come to pick up an order). They’re one of the very few Chinese restaurants in RSM – the other being Wan Fu across the Bell Tower.
We love their yangzhou fried rice! I wish they had a true catering option with discounted price for bulk buy. They do offer half tray for big events but you have to order multiples of the item and ask them to prepare them in the foil tray.
I’m not a fan of their hot & sour soup – the meat tastes like processed ground chicken or pork. I’d like to try other items in the menu.
The atmosphere is alright. The place could use a little livening up to be less meh!

Last night dined at Newlake Restaurant, and while the food was truly excellent, the overall experience left much to be desired due to the service.
The food itself was fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. Every dish we tried was delicious, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. Kudos to the kitchen staff for delivering such a fantastic meal!
Unfortunately, the service did not match the same level of quality. Our server was slow and unresponsive, which was frustrating. It took an unusually long time just to get waters, and rather than being attentive, the server proceeded to sit at the front of the restaurant watching a show on her phone—with the volume up. This was incredibly disruptive, as the loud audio from her phone interrupted what should have been an enjoyable and peaceful dinner.
While we were very impressed with the food, the inattentive service took away from the overall experience. I hope management addresses this issue, as Newlake has so much potential to provide both great food and great service. If they can improve on the service, tell employees its is very unproffesional to be watching a TV show on the phone with the volume up! it would make dining here truly exceptional if they focus on better service

My wife and I decided to try this place out and we’re glad we did. The food is great! She had the house special chicken, which comes on a bed of broccoli, has a side of rice, and a little egg roll with the lunch special. The broccoli was fresh, cooked perfectly and I must say… was delicious with the sauce. I had the szechuan pork. Spicy and delicious as well. We’ll definitely come back for more. There were a lot of other menu items that sounded really good.

The new Asian restaurant in RSM is awesome! We were so impressed with the taste and quality of the food. Ordered 2 mains, noodles and rice for 2 adults a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old and there was enough to feed us all and have some leftovers the following day! They even threw in a free coke into the order! I usually have stomach issues when we eat out but I had zero problems with their food which means that preparation is clean and safe! We loved it and we’ll be coming back for more! Keep up the good quality good work!

9/10/23, 1st time customer but I will definitely be returning. Newish to the area and this was a great choice for take out. I ordered the orange chicken,9.5/10, Not greasy or covered in fried bread. VERY tasty. Chicken fried rice was also a 9.5 out of 10 as well as the Chicken chowmein. Both were delicious. The creamcheese wantons were a 9/10. Good size not overcooked. Sweet n sour sauce was really goo too. The BBQ pork was a 9.5 only because I feel like there should have been more but only by a few pieces. Im still going to order it again. The only 10/10 Was the customer service. Extremely nice and accommodating with recommendations.
